best squash player not only accepts but duly endorses our brand as the preferred airline despite her gruelling travel requirements. This indeed speaks volumes of her trust in us,” said Estee Ng, Country Manager, Air France / KLM. “With KLM’s extensive global network, we shall ensure Dato’ Nicol expands her global dominance by providing her with reliable and timely connections for tournaments, training or promoting squash for the Olympic Games,” added Ng. KLM flies daily between Kuala Lumpur, which is home for Nicol, and Amsterdam where she is based for training. Speaking at the sponsorship ceremony in Kuala Lumpur recently, Nicol quipped, “I would like to thank my new sponsor KLM for making it so much easier not only to come home to Malaysia, but to travel the world over without any hassle. It is a privilege to be associated with the best”.

Launch of l.Inc “L.Inc is our natural evolution. There were some milestone changes happening within the agency, in terms of growth of our team and client base and we wanted to reflect those changes externally as well. I felt it was time to turn our talent for branding to our own image, and L.Inc is the next phase in our journey,” said Lisette Scheers, CEO and Creative Director of L.Inc. With over 90 pieces on display, many of which were quickly purchased, the exhibition was a retrospective of

Lisette’s rise in the Malaysian creative industry. Highlights of the exhibition were the original artwork for a number of recognizable Malaysian locales and brands. Best known for her extensive work across The BIG Group’s various successes, Lisette was also commissioned to rebrand Damansara Uptown, a large scale project which is still ongoing. Additionally, anyone visiting the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra will have seen Lisette’s mural, which she painted live.

On 14 August, Lisette Scheers, the creative mind behind the runaway success of The BIG Group’s F&B empire, opened an exhibit of her original artwork from the past nine years, aptly titlted Lisette & Ink. Lisette’s second major exhibition in Malaysia, the pieces ranged from pencil sketches and watercolor paintings to detailed silk screens and designs in Chinese ink. The opening of the exhibition also served as the launch of Lisette’s new company, L.Inc. Formed to cater to the growing demand for her work, L.Inc is the new face of the Dutch entrepreneur’s creative presence here in Malaysia. MDBCONNECTS · 3RD ISSUE 2013
