Speaker Profiles Nancy Allen Women’s Business D evelopment Council of Florida

Fabian Estrada ACCION Fabiana Estrada is the Manager of Lending for the Florida Region and Loan Consultant for ACCION East and Online. ACCION is nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial education and access to capital to small business owners. Fabiana has many years of experience in the lending field, She was a Mortgage Loan Processor for Conventional and Government programs and she also was able to assist costumers in distress with the Loan Modification process. Her work was recognized recently recognized with the E conomic Opportunity Award granted by the South Florida Community Development Coalition (SFCDC). Fabiana and her team helped increase lending in the Miami Dade County, which has struggled economically since the beginning of the recession in 2007. Since 1991, ACCION has provided over 2,000 South Florida entrepreneurs with small business loans and free financial education. Fabiana is a graduated from University of Law in Buenos Aires Argentina.

Jeni Chokron SunTrust Bank Jeni Chokron has been an SBA Business Development Officer with SunTrust Bank for 1-­‐½ years with a f ocus on the S. Florida market. Prior to joining SunTrust Bank, Jeni developed, created & ran Bank Atlantic’s SBA Dept., which in less than 3 years was approving 100 SBA loans per year in S. Florida. Jeni’s experience has been catering to small businesses through 7 years in SBA Lending, 9 years in banking and 10 years in technology. Her specialty in SBA lending stems from a comprehensive understanding of the various SBA solutions available to Small Businesses and her ability to co-­‐mingle products based on client needs to facilitate reaching the goals of their business. Jeni holds a BA degree in Business Management from Florida Atlantic University. Proudly serves on a committee with The Florida Association of Government Guaran-­‐teed Lenders (FAGGL) and spends time volunteering with other community organizations.

Allen is the President and CEO of the Women’s Business Development Council of Florida, a not for profit organization whose mission is to assist in the establishment and growth of women in business. Nancy has the honor of being the U.S. Small Business Administration’s South Florida District 2011 Women in Business Champion of the Year. The WBDC is the Florida R egional Partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which certifies that businesses are women-­‐owned, operated, managed and independently controlled. Nancy was recently honored by ICABA as one of South Florida’s 100 most accomplished Caribbean Americans. She is especially proud of this award because it highlights her heritage as well as her professional accomplishments. Born in Haiti and raised in South Florida. She is bi-­‐lingual in English and French and is fluent in Spanish and Creole.

Desmond Alufohai Office of Economic Development & Trade And Alufy International Inc. Mr. Alufohai is the International Trade Coordinator at the Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Miami-­‐Dade County and also the President & CEO of Alufy International Inc. He has more than two decades of progressive experience in executive levels of responsibilities in both the private and public sectors. He has extensive leadership skills in association management, human resource development and multicultural management. Experience in organization, execution and implementation of small and medium-­‐ sized business development programs, strategic business management, international relations, diplomacy, international business and trade initiatives.

Pierre Saliba Stanley Foodman & Associates Haitian-­‐American Chamber of Commerce Pierre A. Saliba provides international and domestic tax, forensic accounting, litigation support and advisory services to clients in a broad range of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing and not-­‐for-­‐profit organizations. He assists clients with domestic and international corporate and personal taxation services, due diligence and evidence retrieval. He also works with clients on voluntary disclosure matters. As firm manager, Mr. Saliba also leads Foodman’s focus on client service. A member of the firm since 2002, he brings prior experience as a cost accountant, controller and production manager in the garment industry, both in the U.S. and internationally. Fluent in French, Creole and Spanish, he serves as president of the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida. Mr. Saliba is also an active member of other Miami civic and charitable organizations devoting both time and resources to helping those in need.
