Spectorium/2022
Spectorium is a place where Atlanta tourists can take advantage of the city’s most popular attractions. This hotel is designed with the intention of creating an exchange of glances or merely an observation of the surroundings. This interplay of glances creates a connection with the environment.

Atlanta’s "skyline" following the Civil War was comprised of burned-out structures maxing out at three stories.
Less than 25 years after the Civil War, Atlanta had begun to grow into a bustling commercial center for the region. Development was clustered around the archedroof central train station.
This view looking southwest across the Fairlie-Poplar District, shows many of the high-rises built in the 1910s and 1920s. An array of hotels punctuated the skyline, with the Ansley, Robert Fulton, and Glenn hotels all visible in the picture.

DOWNTOWN ATLANTA

Downtown Atlanta was still the center of density for the city in the early 1960s when this post card was compiled. The construction of the interstate, visible across the bottom of the image, would quickly change the dynamic, drawing development northward toward Midtown.

The name Vias comes from the spanish word ways or route. This design was inspired by the directionality of the train tracks of Sinaia, Romania. The abstract concept shows curvature and movement. The transitional train station was designed for the community and visitors of Sinaia with the purpose of transporting individuals from the train station to the hotel or town. The design includes three floors which are the way to each person’s destination.

Conclusion
With the establishment of this transitional station, my objective was to create a welcoming and inviting environment. Here, tourists and residents can find a place to relax, seek information, indulge in local purchases, access restroom facilities, and savor refreshments before departing for or arriving from the village of Sinaia.

Connections/2022
“Connections” was inspired by the movement of the site, Daffin Park. The space of this park allowed me to expand and reorganize the area so that the users can have the perfect mobility between the current and added programs of the site. Connection links the activities, sports, and neighborhood, creating a new and active community in Savannah, GA.

Daffin Park
Daffin Park, spanning 80.4 acres, marked Savannah’s initial major green space of the twentieth century. Orchestrated by landscape architect John Nolen from Massachusetts, the park’s ambitious blueprint encompassed expansive lawns, shaded tree-lined pathways, ornate fountains, recreational zones, and the inclusion of an educational institution.

Project Objective
By addressing the challenges of the current Daffin Park site, the design successfully improved connectivity between activities, reducing underutilized areas. This was achieved through strategic placement of amenities, pathways, and a balance between active and passive spaces, resulting in a more engaging and cohesive park experience.
