1. AIESEC and it’s projects today - internships

Currently there are 3 exchange-related products we sell to students and enablers (companies, start-ups, schools, NGOs, etc.). Their differentiation can be seen in the chart, below branding. A recent change in global direction from “students” to “youth” means, that these products are available to all young people between 18 and 30 years of age.

1. AIESEC and it’s projects today - social impact In Slovakia, we want young people to understand cultural differences in the world, communicate with others effectively, be proactive and self-aware. This project brings interns from all over the world to host lectures and interactive workshops in elementary and high schools around Slovakia. Curricula are adjusted for different age groups to make all kids between the ages of 6 and 18 develop themselves to be the youth we want to see. Project is organised under patronage of Ministry of Education and contributes to SDG 4 - Quality education. More information at www.educateslovakia.sk. Right now, this is the biggest project of AIESEC in Slovakia. Starting today and throughout January and February 2017 we have over 120 interns taking part in this project. A part of this project’s impact is generated through Host Families, which play a unique role in experiencing the culture of Slovakia for foreign interns. The duration of stay can be between 1 and 6 weeks, which is the full duration of the project. Main benefits include practicing a foreign language (English or else), experiencing a foreign culture first-hand or friendships around the world.

1. AIESEC and it’s projects today - corporate partnerships

National conferences

An employer branding opportunity for a company to get to know active AIESEC-ers and build a pool of potential future employees. Activities include workshops, panel discussion, distribution of brand materials, etc.

YouthSpeak Forum

The only external event of AIESEC will be hosted this April in Bratislava. We’re connecting active youth with companies to find solutions for social challenges implied by this survey. Opportunity for direct recruitment.

Recruitment

Opportunity to increase the brand positioning of a company amongst university students and universities all around Slovakia.

Outgoing internships for companies

Following the trend of opening internships for youth in ages 18-30, we can help companies to send their employees for a sabbatical - an AIESEC internship, to gain new energy and ideas before returning back to work in full strength.

CSR

Partners that are investing through their CSR funds or foundations can support any of the AIESEC activities, where we define the partnerships based on individual needs.

Key challenges: • leadership crisis - the progress of the organisation required us to replace LCPs - 1 current (September) and 2 elected (December). We’re working with the respective LCs to support the transition. Key successes: • doubling our performance in incoming volunteering internships increased our impact and improved the financial stability of the organisation. We’ll report on both impact and finance once the project is done. 1516 1617 41 31 23

As Q4 is not a realisation peak for the organisation, we’re comparing Approved - pipeline to be realised in Q1. Results are counted in a period between 1.10.2016 and 31.12.2016, compared with the same period term before.

3. Q4 milestones

Dare 2016 conference

Traditionally in Iveta, Radava, we welcomed ca. 210 delegates, including 20 Alumni.

On Dec 3rd in Crowne Plaza we hosted 180+ Alumni, including the founder of AIESEC. Final report coming soon.

Educate Slovakia preparations

New generation of EBs

50th anniversary event

As our biggest project is starting on Jan 9th, we needed to finalise all the major parts in the previous Q. Together we have over 140 volunteers working on this project.

Starting at the beginning of November with LCP elections and continuing throughout December with EB elections. Now, all the LCs have 4-8 people to take their LCs forward in the next term.

With the MC team we evaluated how our term is going after the first half, adjusted our approach and prepared for the next semester. In case you’re interested in the output, you can find it here!

Moving the MC flat

MC re-planning

After 5 years of staying in Cubicon the landlord is selling our rented flat, so we had to move. Our new address is Mudrochova 27 in RaÄ?a - feel free to come visit us! :)

4. Q1 plan Establishing initiative groups on the following universities:

Expansions

Educate Slovakia

• • • • •

Slovak University of Technology, BA VŠEMVS, BA Slovak Medical University (SZU), BA University of St Elisabeth, BA BISLA, BA

• • • • •

Paneuropean University, BA City University, BA University of Žilina, ZA University in Ružomberok, RK Technical University of Košice, KE

Delivery of the project for over 300 schools and 120 interns around the whole country will be a big challenge. We’re ensuring proper experience for the interns, logistics and account management of the schools. With successful closing of ES2017 we want to kickstart preparation of ES 2018 edition already from the end of February onwards.

Recruitment Much like at the beginning of every semester, in February we’re organising recruitment and induction for new members. This spring we plan to recruit approx. 180 new members, thus and induction increasing the overall membership of the organisation to ca. 285.

Others

• MC sales - hosting YouthSpeak Forum in April requires intensive sales in January and February, while sales for conferences and other partnerships is ongoing. • Outgoing internships - as this is (also historically) the biggest opportunity to engage youth during summer, we’re re-building our marketing strategy to engage more people. • MCP elections happening on Jan 18th and following MC elections in Feb and March. • Strategic alliances - continuous efforts to formalise partnerships with ministries, municipalities or other institutions that can help us increase our impact.

5. Alumni help needed “I have contacts at some of the universities you want to work with.”

The list of universities can be found in the previous page - in case you know a teacher, dean or a PhD student - any help will be appreciated!

In Jan-Feb 2017 we’ll have more than hundred foreigners coming to the country, teaching in schools. We don’t want to miss this opportunity to do PR and position AIESEC in Slovakia.

“I can help with media contacts.”

“I know about a company you can approach as a partner.”

We are always looking for a companies interested in youth, whether we’re talking about Slovak people (AIESEC-ers) or internationals (internships). Any new partner will be a contribution!

Whatever it is, we’re curious to hear it. Improving cooperation with Alumni is something we would like to work on in this term and so if you have something, please, message us.

“I have other input / want to help / etc.”

“I want to receive the monthly MC newsletter.”

On a monthly basis we’re releasing internal newsletter for our network. If you want to receive the most important updates on what’s going on in the organisation, this is the link for you :)

The next conference is coming up on March 23-26 with Alumni agenda too. Last year we had almost 40 of you, how many will it be this year? Looking forward to see you!

“I want to join the next conference.”
