Congratulations on completing your time at Mercia School. For many of you, it has been seven years of hard work - I hope you leave with lots of happy memories. For others, a two year spell comes to an end after a major leap of faith. I thank you all for putting your faith in us, I trust we haven't let you down.

From September 2024, we were proud to officially announce the appointment of Isabella Merino Garzon and Zack Luk as our firstever Head Girl and Head Boy, alongside David Dzakpata and MinahilMasoodastheirdeputies.Wealsoappointedanumberof Sixth Form Prefects to support the Head Team in their new roles. We are impressed with all the hard work that they have invested intoMCSFthusfar!
Sonder is defined as ‘profound feeling of realising that everyone, including strangers passing in the street, has a life as complex as one 'sown’ Itwasthisdefinitionthatinspiredthe School of Arts and Social Sciences to create Sonder over thespaceof ayear, acollectionof articles and reviews drawing on our profound feelings and experiences to craft a journal that not only allowed us to discuss our interestspolitics, culture, protest, media, identity, but also inquire into those interests and discover whattheytellusaboutourselvesandaboutthe worldweinhabit.
Ultimately, the ethos of Sonder is that all of us, atthisschoolandinourlives,arelikestrangers passing in the corridors between classes, but hopefully through challenging and engaging withthisworldarounduswecancomecloserto understandingandenrichingnotonlytheirlives butourown.Wehopeyouenjoy.
TRIPS
From the Crown Courts to the skies! At Mercia Collegiate, both our super and extra-curricular programmes have certainly gone above and beyond. Throughout both Years 12 and Year 13, our inaugural cohort have not only competed in national Robotics and Debating competitions but also taken part on biology field trips, and visited the theatre many a time We also attracted the attention of some very high-profile visitors including the Lady ChiefJusticeandLordDavidBlunkett.
