A Word From The President Greetings ‘Dega Alumni and Friends! When called upon for something special, it is a known fact that ‘Degans always rise to the occasion. With the recent exciting announcement of a ‘Dega son, William R. Harvey, and his wife, Norma, gifting over $1 million dollars for a new art museum to house the Amistad Murals, I feel so blessed to be a part of this great institution. Their gift has brought a renewed fervor and rejuvenated the “can do” spirit among the ranks of alumni and those who care about the success of Talladega College. Education is the key to greatness and this institution has always been proud of its educational excellence. Talladega College is known as a leader in educational circles and for the promotion of excellence in our students. The legacy of Talladega College proves this through each individual who has walked these hallowed halls. The sacrifice of others and their legacy bestowed upon us enables us to stand tall, as we represent Talladega College. We must look to the future by moving forward, in a way that is progressive, and in the best interest of future generations. Plans for the 2014 97th Alumni Reunion Weekend and 139th Commencement Exercises are underway, with something planned for all age groups. The returning alumni classes from the ‘4s and ‘9s, along with the Golden Class of 1964, and the 2014 Graduating Class are sure to enjoy this fun-filled weekend. As you return, I invite you to lend your support for your alma mater and encourage others to do the same, as we celebrate 146 years of Academic Excellence.
