Picola League Finals 2025

Jesse Jervis (1) –Consistent contributor who uses his voice and cracking pace to dominate play and whip the ball all over the ground.

Spencer Cowley (2) – Big presence who can dominate at either end, loves a goal and a nice set of boots.

Stuart Benger (4) – Quiet achiever with strong hands who bobs up when needed for a goal or two (or three for Jerilderie).

Brody Wills (5) – Leads from the front, silky skills, elite game awareness, questionable fashion sense. Finds that much of the Sherrin he’s constantly asked if he brought his own.

Sam Conallin (6) – Solid defender with a killer smile who can intercept mark, move to the midfield and turn into a clearance machine.

Henry Learmonth (8) –Honest and reliable, drives opponents (and sometimes teammates) nuts with his elusive speed, dangerous left

boot and constant updates.

Callan Glenn (9) – Hardrunning wingman with a ripping left foot who has found the footy more than most; he’s a cross between Isaac Smith and Humphrey B Bear.

Max Watson (10) – An entertainment machine is our Cliffy. With arms like tree trunks, his eyes are like steel –cold and hard. Has a shock of hair, red like the fires of Hell.

Jacob Holton (11) – Neversay-die attitude and never backs down (sometimes maybe he should?). Plays with a chip on his shoulder and has improved in all aspects of the game.

Ben Hayes (12) – Another consistent leader who plays hard, team-first footy. Loves to rebound from defence and long beach walks.

Noah Dunn (13) – Quick and agile, dangerous when inside 50 and always looking to improve. Trains almost as hard as he stares.

Jake Harvey (14) – A no-nonsense defender with

a booming kick, this bloke eats dumbbells for breakfast followed by a full workday on the farm before school.

Tom Way (15) – A lean, mean footy machine. With looks like Brad Pitt and a footy IQ that would eclipse Einstein, he’ll be a welcome inclusion to the finals team.

Dannon Leetham (16) –The ultimate utility who is called on when things aren’t working. Plays well beyond his years; can go forward, back, dominate in ruck or rover. Will be pivotal in the finals campaign and the next moon landing.

Liam Knuckey (17) – Has missed a large chunk of footy but has come good at the right time of year. With a neat kick and large frame, he has been known to serenade his opposition with an acoustic version of Swifty’s Shake It Off

Lincoln Meharry (18) – Dominant in the air and extremely strong at ground level for a big lad. He’s like a

seven-foot ninja – stealthy, deadly and with ice coursing through his veins.

Ethan Connolly (19) – The definition of consistency, with lethal kicking ability and the most coachable nature to grace Memorial Park. Has greatly benefited from opportunities at senior level, will be pivotal in the finals, and has the tightest curls in the Riverina.

Isaac Beshman (21) –Hard-running, smack-talking, high-flying weapon. Another lethal kick who has grown immensely in football (and hopefully attitude) after taking opportunities at senior level.

Nick Fanning (23) –Smooth-moving utility with a twinkle in his eye and a truck in every pocket. Rarely beaten in the contest – or at Uno.

Fletcher Campion (24) –Hard-working ruckman who provides the kids with leather on a platter. Loves the contest almost as much as his mum.

Alex Ledwidge (25) – A

forward’s nightmare, chews up and spits out opponents like Juicy Fruit. Hard at the contest, long left foot, takes every opportunity to help teammates out.

Reagan MacDonald (27) – Pastry chef in the making, ever-reliable whether at CHF or CHB. Brings others into the game with natural footy nous and hard work.

Xander Strong (28) –Hard-running, tackling machine. With the second-tightest curls in the Riverina, he keeps opposing coaches on their toes with dashing speed and constant pressure.

Jett Lynch (29) –Dangerous small forward who provides an option whenever on the field. Hardnosed young gun wrapped into an elusive, electric and elegant package.

Charlie ConnorHetherington (30) – An athletic left-footer who covers plenty of ground.

Nut Goodsell (31) – This bloke has muscles on top of muscles, loves a challenge and a stiff arm.

Zach Grimison (32) – A great acquisition back to the team, with a bright future – if we can get him off the tools for long enough to have a kick.

(Back, from left) Liam East (co-coach), Nicholas Fanning, Lincoln Meharry, Jesse Jervis, Fletcher Campion, Max Watson, Dannon Leetham, Tom Way, Reagan Macdonald, Sam Conallin, Liam Knuckey, Jacob Holton, Isaac Behsman, Jett Lynch-Conn, Spencer Cowley and Jake Harvey; (front) Henry Learmonth, Brody Wills, Ethan Connolly, Callan Glenn, Stuart Benger, Noah Dunn and Ben Hayes. Scott Howard (co-coach).

Picola League Finals 2025

Daniel Mison (Defender –13) – Mouse — 400+ games, the club’s heart and soul, and a training-track assassin. Dreams of being a forward, but the scoreboard’s never in danger.

Matthew Horne (Co-Coach/Defender – 14) –Horny — Ex-forward turned defender, now more likely to sell you a house than kick you a goal. Hairline and kicking both in a buyer’s market.

Ben McCalman (Co-Coach/Mid – 16) – Bam — Loves a rainy day and thrives in the wet, crashing through packs with a hard head built for it. This quiet coach prefers to let his actions do the talking… mostly because they’re louder than his words.

Connor Didcock (Defender – 21) – Diddy — Skinny as a rake, he slips through the opposition off halfback like they’re not even there… probably because they can’t see him side-on.

Alex Rourke (Defender –23) – Rourkey — Older than the goalposts and twice as hard to get past, Rourkey’s the bloke you trust to guard your house, your dog, and the backline.

Ben Littmann (Forward – 27) — Loves being let off the leash, whether it’s up forward or on a function night. If you’ve lost him, there’s a fair chance he’s at the Brickies on the laptop.

Scott Howard (Forward –28) – Moot — A wise head in the forward line and a vocal leader, armed with years of experience and just enough fire in his beer belly to keep defenders nervous.

Joe Hay (Wing/Forward – 29) – Joey — Finals time means it’s Joe off the leash — and when he’s loose, defenders start looking for the

nearest exit. Ready to ignite.

Harry Turner (Forward/ Mid – 31) — One of our leading goal kickers who should be in the seniors, but the 2:30 beers keep calling. Watch for him weaving through defenders and finishing with that silky left boot.

Taj Payne (Wing/Forward – 32) — Smart enough to read the play two steps ahead, fit enough to get there before anyone else, and sporting long curly locks that bounce majestically as he leaves defenders in his wake.

Andrew Croker (Wing –33) — First year out of the thirds, you’ll spot him by the bright boots flashing up the field… usually faster than the bloke chasing him.

Samuel Richardson (Defender – 34) – Richo — Soon to be nicknamed “The Prancing Pony” like Paddy Voss, he charges in chestout toward the opposition. If you’re in his sights, best start praying.

Blake Norris (Forward –35) – Noz — Loves hitting the scoreboard and is a genuine asset up forward — defenders hate him, teammates love him.

Dylan Mills (Defender –36) – Millsy — Spends more time cooking dinner for Liv than training, but somehow still peaks right when it matters. Must be the secret herbs and spices.

Bailey Caruso (Forward – 37) – Baz — Twinkle toes up forward, dancing around defenders like they’re nothing more than training cones.

Aden Bermingham (Captain/Mid/Forward –39) – Bermo — Leads from the front, fresh off a big preseason, and primed to flick the finals switch to full throttle.

Brett Rose (Wing – 40)

– Rosie — The country bumpkin who runs all day and loves a can at night… just as long as he steers clear of the gastro.

Hayden Gardiner (Forward – 41) — Crafty as they come, with an elite left foot that only needs a few touches to flip a game on its head.

Mitch Jefferies (Defender – 42) — Nicknamed “The Ferrari,” he’s spent most of the year up on blocks, but he’s tuned up just in time to hit top gear for finals.

Bobby Hall (Defender/ Mid – 43) – AKA “Bobby Ruck” — Loves hearing he’s getting a run in the ruck. Tough as nails, with a booming left foot and a stiff arm that should come with a warning label.

Darby Watson (Wing – 44) – AKA “Possum” — Making the trip from Melbourne to teach Horny a thing or two about real estate. Loves finding space out wide, hanging onto the footy like it’s property deeds, and sneaking into the forward pocket when no-one’s looking.

Rylan Wade (Wing – 45) –Wadey — Baby of the group and fresh out of the thirds, he’s growing in confidence every week. Let him get goalside, and you’ll only see the back of his jumper.

John Allitt (Ruck/Forward – 46) — The butcher who only plays home games, always ready to chop out in the ruck and snag one up forward — and yes, he serves both with sauce.

Matthew Wade (Forward –47) — With a beard like Ned Kelly, Wadey storms through defenders like Ned through a bank… and with about the same regard for the law.

Cooper King (Defender –48) – Bocco — A straight-line specialist since moving back,

he’s been putting in the hard yards and is primed to steam roll into a big September.

Jack Pekin (Forward –50) – Peko — Dubbed “The Labrador” by the opposition — big, blonde, and dopey — this FIFO forward’s in and out of the team, but when he’s on, he’s crashing packs and drooling over a loose ball.

Damian Hope (Forward/ Mid – 51) – Chinga — The package up forward, with Jeremy Howe’s springs and Jake Stringer’s appetite for chaos. This September, he’ll be climbing shoulders like he’s chasing the last beer in the esky.

Sam Frazier (Defender –52) — If he’s got the footy, get out of the way — he’s a wrecking ball in boots.

Nicholas Stubbings (Defender – 53) – Stubbo — Never backs down, just tucks the ball under the arm and runs straight through opponents like they’re training bags.

Tristan Fitzsimmons (Forward – 54) – Tritta — Rarely strays far from the square, moves like Forrest Gump in knee braces, but kicks straighter than a laser beam.

Jordyn McCulloch (Captain/Mid/Defender – 55) — Marathon runner, deck-spinner, and finals troublemaker in the making. Wears the jumper with pride and plans to run the opposition ragged.

John Glowrey (Runner/45th Man – 25) – Plough — Stepped aside this year with the numbers we had, but still managed to sneak in a few games when we were short — proving you can’t keep a good man off the field.

Shannon Sampson (umpire) – Sambo –Consistent all year, calls everything deliberate, even the coin toss, but we’re very thankful he’s out there.

Peter Bermingham

(interchange) – Bermo — The magnet magician, running the bench with the precision of a surgeon and the authority of a traffic cop.

Simon Stubbings (team manager) – Stubbo — Always has the team sheets and jumpers sorted, and is first to rip open the box after he brings it in — like a kid at Christmas.

Charlie Hussey (trainer) — A key reason the noon boys make it onto the field, expertly sticking body parts together like a human roll of duct tape.

Brittany Kirby (trainer) — The loudest voice in the strappers’ room and on the sidelines, Britt patches up the boys and sends them back out with expert care… and probably a ringing in their ears.

Peter Howley (goal umpire) — Arguably one of the greatest back men to play the game, Pete now takes care of the goal umpiring duties. A true-blue Rover.

(Back, from left) John Glowrey, Peter Bermingham, Joey Hay, Mitch Jefferies, Dylan Mills, Connor Didcock, Daniel Mison, Tristan Fitzsimmons, Ben Littmann, Blake Norris, Nicholas Stubbings, Darby Watson, Andrew Croker, Jordyn McCulloch, Taj Payne, Sam Richardson, Allan Bond, Aden Bermingham, Tom Blake, Cooper King and Simon Stubbings (team manager); (front) Shannon Sampson, Rylan Wade, Brett Rose, Matthew Wade, Matthew Horne (playing co-coach), Ben McCalman (playing co-coach), Harry Turner, Hayden Gardiner, Alex Rourke and Jack Pekin. Absent - Scott Howard, Bailey Caruso, Damian Hope, John Allitt, Bobby Hall, Sam Frazier.

Picola League Finals 2025

Adam Bodey (1) — The captain who has time and time again put the team on his shoulders and dragged them along with his physical presence and relentless effort. Tractor has been a stalwart in the blue and white and gives absolutely everything every time he crosses the line. Lucky to have him!

Nick Hay (2) — Run, carry and the ultimate team man. Nick has the uncanny ability to win contests where he is outnumbered and create scoring opportunities. A beautiful ball user who gives every ounce of what he has on the field.

Tom Blake (3) — The versatile swing man who can be a handful up forward when he’s not taking intercept marks down back. A Rovers junior who has developed into an excellent footballer who will have a lot to say in this September’s results.

James Kirby (4) — The ever-experienced ruckman who has the ability to put the ball in places that only his on-ballers are capable of taking it. Hardworking and driven, Kirbs sets a great example for his teammates and is

having a huge impact on the results of each game played.

Cameron Wills (5) — The Rolls Royce exits congestion like everyone around him is in quicksand. One of those players that seems to make time stand still. Kicks the ball like a surgeon and is developing into one of the finest young leaders this club has seen – he embodies the blue and white.

Liam East (6) — The best small defender in the league. Tough as nails and has become an exceptional leader within the team.

Jai Ezard (7) — The golden boot in the team has hit form at the right time of the year. A great balance as an uncompromising defender with the ability to read the game and get creative from the back half of the ground.

James Gilligan (8) — Absolute warrior. When the team looks for inspiration, they look to the captain— Gilly. He has provided time and time again in the blue and white. Exceptional skills on both feet, often the designated kicker.

Rhys McCulloch (9) — Line-breaking run and carry,

foot skills, experience, clubman, ultimate team man and rugged good looks. This guy has it all.

Waylon Johncock (10) — Silk. Do we need to say any more? You won’t find another player who runs harder or uses the ball as well as Waylon. Further to that, his willingness to share his experience has enabled everyone in the team to reach their potential. A rare gift.

Alex Hay (11) — The coach who is just proud to be coaching such a wonderful and hard-working group. Hungry for some success to reward the effort that the team has given over a number of years.

Jackson MuldoonLeetham (12) — Try and keep up. Jacko has made the wing his own this season and has the ability to turn a game with his run and carry. An elite left footer that serves maximum damage and often runs towards opponents simply to fend them off.

Kaiden Joss (13) — The winger’s wingman. Plays an outside role that allows him to use his beautiful foot skills and be so damaging in any position on the ground.

Although an outside winger, exceptionally tough and never takes a backwards step in the contest.

Jayden Pitts (15) — Trialled at CHF and quickly took on the aura of Anthony Rocca. Great game sense, vicelike hands and a cannon for a right foot. Pittsy has been a wonderful addition, with extreme on-field value for his leadership and experience.

Ryan Lovegrove-Hudson (17) — The king! When he is on a roll, you will know about it. Crafty goal sense, beautiful ball user and can put the footy away in a short period of time. He has become the team’s barometer, and things just happen when he is up and about.

Allan Bond (18) — There is a reason that you play 400 games and win multiple premierships, which is extremely rare at any level. Does absolutely anything that the team needs and then some. 25 touches and a few goal assists would be a good day out for anyone; Bondy calls that an average Saturday.

Tyson Willis (19) — Tyson plays football comparable to watching a wedge-tailed eagle in full flight. Effortless beauty with a destructive power that can put a game out of reach in the blink of an eye. Come to the game just to watch him.

Brendan Hope (20) — Heart and soul. His dedication and loyalty to both the club and his teammates is unwavering. Gives nothing away on-field and often has the responsibility of shutting down some of the league’s best forwards.

Isaac Behsman (21) — The boy wonder who has stepped up from the thirds and established himself as a consistent and damaging senior player. Tough, quick and good in the air, Beesh is a game changer.

Brad Taylor (22) — Midseason addition who has brought experience and a calm head. Never flustered,

even in the most chaotic of situations, and makes the right decision with his ball use on both sides of his body and allows others to play their role.

Logan Leiper (26) — Don’t be deceived by the bull’shead-down, tackle-first, ask-questions-later mentality. Logan has the uncanny ability to hit targets by foot that others didn’t think were there, and his handball game only makes others around him better. If you’re in the trenches, you want him next to you.

Logan Ives (30) — The clearance king. Footy IQ is exceptional and extremely clean first touch, with the ability to release his teammates into space like no other. Reward for the effort that he has put in to be playing so well at the right time of the year, and will shape the results come finals time.

Harry McIlwain (33) — When you need a job done, you send Haz Mac. Extremely adaptable, having played nearly every position on the ground at different stages throughout the year. No-fuss operator that just gets it done. Cool, calm and collected, rarely makes a mistake. And you just feel better being around him.

Ethan Connolly (36) — Another of our current thirds crop/who has transitioned flawlessly into senior football. Versatile and tough. Etho runs in straight lines and shoulder-first into every contest. An underrated ball user

with the ability to shut down dangerous forwards. He has a huge future in senior football. Hayden Barker (38) — No fuss. This guy marks the ball (often with three opponents trying to pull him down) and then kicks goals.

Bobby Hall (43) — Contest, contest, contest. To say Bobby gives you everything downstairs does him justice. Often used as an undersized ruckman, he competes like no-one you’ve seen before. Can play down back and provide something forward of the ball; his versatility is a luxury.

Brody Wills (45) — If you could find a more popular senior footballer, you would be shocked. Not only a heartthrob for those watching on the sidelines, Brodes is an extremely hard worker and has exceptional craft with the ability to see what others can’t. Beautiful foot skills, strong hands and cat-like at ground level.

Rivva Karpney-Sansbury (49) — Class. Reads the game two plays in front of everyone on the ground. With versatility to run and create off halfback, elite ball use through the middle of the ground and damaging as a forward. A great addition to the club.

Rowan Frazer (56) — Mr Reliable. Often the first picked in the team because there is no-one better at playing their role and sticking to the team structure. Never goes outside what is required or makes a mistake. PRESSURE!
