We take great care in selecting and preparing ensembles, are thoughtful in our repertoire selection, and work exclusively with highly respected and effective guest conductors. HOSPITALITY Manhattan Concert Productions is a production company offering distinctive performance, clinic and travel opportunities to deserving choirs, bands, and orchestras at prestigious venues around the world.

Knowing the complexities you face with music leadership at home, MCP’s role is to share our collective experiences in music, teaching, business, and travel, guiding our participants through a meaningful enhancement to their programs. octavo series Our most popular event for qualified high school choirs, the Octavo Series gives high school and collegiate ensembles the opportunity to collaborate on a series of six shorter pieces. children’s choir series Designed specifically with developing voices in mind, MCP’s Children’s Choir Series offers ensembles the opportunity to collaborate with other youth ensembles from around the country on six shorter pieces. The pieces are selected for their pedagogical integrity by our faculty of highly respected choral educators with expertise in working with the emerging voice.

debut series When your ensemble is ready for their spotlight, consider joining us for our Debut Series. These exclusive performance slots are based upon availability and reserved for those ensembles aspiring to perform independently on one of the world’s most noted stages. These unique engagements are limited, and are reserved for the most qualified groups. To qualify, ensembles are required to submit a recording of a recent performance for evaluation. masterwork series Our Masterwork Series offers qualified choral ensembles the opportunity to collaborate on a major work alongside a professional orchestra and soloists. Under the direction of a renowned guest conductor, these ensembles coalesce to form the Masterwork Festival Chorus.

broadway series Featuring a star-studded cast of 20, a chorus of over 200 singers, and accompanied by the enlarged forces of the all-professional New York City Chamber Orchestra, Manhattan Concert Productions inaugurated its BROADWAY SERIES in 2013 with a sold-out concert performance of Ragtime.

In subsequent years, MCP has continued to feature Broadway, TV, and movie stars with full chorus and orchestra in critically acclaimed performances, including Maury Yeston & Peter Stone’s Titanic (2014), Jason Robert Brown’s Tony award-winning Parade (2015), Lucy Simon & Marsha Norman’s The Secret Garden (2016), and the 25th Anniversary Concert Performance of George and Ira Gershwin’s Crazy For You (2017).

Back by popular demand, our 2018 season will feature a reprisal of bestloved Broadway hits for stars, festival chorus, and the New York City Chamber Orchestra. This spectacular night, under the leadership of Broadway veterans Don Stephenson (director) and Tom Murray (music director), will take place at Carnegie Hall. It’s an experience your ensemble won’t soon forget!

new york city jazz festival Hosted at Harlem’s world-famous Apollo Theater, the New York City Jazz Festival is designed to give instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles the opportunity to perform as part of a ticketed daytime concert, receive comments from a panel of vocal and instrumental jazz experts, participate in a private clinic, and attend an evening performance of select professional and amateur musicians.

Past professional collaborators include: The Real Group, Kurt Elling, New York Voices, Darmon Meader, Paquito D’Rivera, Stefon Harris & Sonic Creed, John Fedchock, Pete McGuinness, and Janis Siegel.

symphonic series In addition to our choral residency offerings, we also offer performance opportunities tailored to instrumental ensembles. In our Symphonic Series, bands and orchestras participate in a private clinic with one of our guest faculty members, and receive feedback from an acclaimed panel of nationally recognized experts. The residency culminates in a daytime concert at an outstanding venue.

conducting competition and fellowship program At Manhattan Concert Productions, we’re committed to developing the next generation of great conductors. We sponsor both the National Collegiate Choral Organization’s Conducting Fellowship Program, and the American Choral Directors Association’s Student Conducting Competition. Past competition winners have been invited to New York City to guest conduct the Manhattan Chorale.

We believe that these experiences are vital to the professional development of young conductors, and we are thrilled to partner with two major industry organizations to bring these opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students. ensembles-in-residence Manhattan Chorale is a professional choir based in New York City under the direction of its founder, Craig Arnold. Manhattan Chorale includes New York freelance professional singers, alongside members hired for singing and administrative skills. As such, the chorale has the distinction of being the only professional mixed choir in the United States with such a membership profile.

Manhattan Chorale has presented concerts in Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

New York City Chamber Orchestra is in its 19th season as Manhattan Concert Productions’ resident orchestra. The NYCCO joins forces with Manhattan Chorale and MCP festival choruses throughout the season. Its membership consists of some of the finest musicians in New York City, all Local 802 professionals, whose other affiliations include the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet, American Symphony Orchestra, New York Pops, Philadelphia Orchestra, and New Jersey Symphony.
