FAIRFIELD — The June primary failed to inspire Solano County voters to cast their ballots, and for those who did, there was little motivation to change existing leadership. The Registrar of Voters Office reported that somewhere around 25% to 26% of the 260,348-plus registered voters cast ballots. There were 7,000 inperson voters Tuesday and John Gardner, assistant registrar of voters, said quite a few voters dropped off their mail-in ballots at the precincts. The results at 10:20 p.m. showed that Solano still supports Gavin Newsom for governor, after also defeating the failed recall effort, and Alex Padilla as

FAIRFIELD — Solano County Supervisor John Vasquez said his agenda heading into his fifth, four-year term looks a lot like 2018 – including being flexible enough to respond to situations that have not revealed themselves yet. He also is more hopeful than he was four years ago that county and city cooperation will lead to improving the homeless situation in the county, “and housing in particular.” He credited the work of Supervisor Jim Spering, who will be leaving office at the end
of the year, and Supervisor Mitch Mashburn, who is in the middle of his second year on the board. Those supervisors have pushed forward an agenda initiated by a committee of city representatives, but with a focus on reconfiguring CAP Solano and its authority over regional homeless issues.
