We recommend you do your own testing to arrive at the position that best suits your needs, conditions and starting surface. Shorter riders will benefit from pulling the front end down more than taller riders, although traction and dirt conditions must be taken into consideration. This is helpful if you race different tracks with various traction and starting pad conditions. You need to decide which preload position you want to use - here are some general guidelines. a. Slight - 65mm - Best for concrete starts, tall riders, or starts on loose dirt b. Medium - 80mm - Standard position for most riders and situations. c. Max - 95mm - Best for shorter riders, maximum compression.
