OPERATION OF WIRED MKII BIKE Wired Balance Bikes offer a speed limiter function on all bikes, ensuring those who are younger, or with less developed skills, can safely use their bike and progress to more power when they are ready to. The following section outlines how to activate and change the speed limiter setting. NOTE – There are modes where the motor will NOT engage from a stopped position SETTING MODE / SPEED LIMITER See Riding Modes section for explanation of different settings. 1. With the battery installed hold the throttle in the fully open position. Do this by sitting in the riding position and rotating the throttle towards yourself until it stops. 2. Press power button while holding the throttle in position. 3. You will hear five loud beeps. 4. Release throttle to off position. 5. Slowly rotate the throttle and you will see the red, then amber, then green lights illuminate the further you twist. 6. When you have chosen your desired position (red, amber or green) hold the throttle there for approximately five seconds and you will hear two loud beeps. 7. Release the throttle fully and you will hear one long beep for approximately four seconds. • Your mode has been set. Each time the bike is turned on it will automatically default to this program. • When your rider is ready you can set the next level by using the same process.

RIDING MODES RED – This is for learners and is set in what we call zero start – the rider cannot simply twist the throttle and start moving; the rider needs to begin movement of the bike in the traditional manner of a balance bike by pushing off with their feet. When the bike is moving, the throttle can be twisted and the engine will engage. This mode is set with a maximum speed of 10km/h for 12” and 15km/h for 16” bikes. NOTE – THE BIKE WILL NOT MOVE UNDER ENGINE POWER FROM A STOPPED POSITION IN RED MODE AMBER – This mode is for intermediate skill levels. The bike will move with the activation of the throttle from a stopped position. When the bike is moving, the throttle can be twisted and the engine will engage. This mode is set with a maximum speed of 17km/h for 12” and 19km/h for 16” bikes. This mode has higher torque settings than learner mode. GREEN – This mode is for experienced riders. The bike will move with the throttle from a stopped position. This mode is set with a maximum speed of 21km/h for 12” and 29km/h for 16” bikes. This mode has the highest output of torque at 21Nm and 40Nm for 12” and 16” bikes respectively. RIDING THE BIKE Ensure the seat is set in a position enabling the rider to be able to comfortably touch the ground with both feet. Have the rider sit on the bike and place the hands on the handlebars. Press the red power button; watch the red/amber/green light sequence and confirm it is suitable for the rider using the bike at that time. If in doubt, set it at a lower power level then work up. Twist the throttle and have fun!

SAFETY CHECKS Check that the bike is in good working order prior to use on each occasion. Ensure loose nuts and bolts are tightened, flat tyres are inflated, the battery and terminals are clean, the seat post is secure and any other basic maintenance items are all resolved before using the bike.
