The Boost Center

by Blue Federal Credit Union

The Boost Center is a community resource center and hub in Cheyenne, Wyoming enhancing the efforts of local non-profits and serving as a safe space for the community. This project will provide resources to those in need, assist to improve housing stability, provide educational development, and widen economic opportunities. My role was to design the space, produce construction documents, create renderings and design presentations, select finishes, lead design and client meetings, and follow the project through the CA phase.

GENERAL NOTES - CONCRETE SLAB ON GRADE:

1. SLAB-ON-GRADE TO BE 4" TOTAL THICKNESS, TYPE I/II PORTLAND CEMENT, NORMAL WEIGHT CONCRETE WITH 28-DAY COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF f'c = 3,500 PSI, 1" MAX AGGREGATE SIZE, WATER/CEMENT RATIO = 0.45. REINFORCE WITH #3 REINF AT 16" O.C. EACH WAY OR WITH 6x6 10/10 WWF CENTERED IN SLAB.

Porsche Denver West

Porsche Denver West is a state-of-the-art dealership for Porsche enthusiasts. The project is located in Lakewood, Colorado and features a showroom, service center, designer lounge, boutique, and sale areas, new and classic cars on display, and a two-story parking garage. It offers a new standard for luxury, innovation and performance. My role was to oversee all CA processes, be a main point of contact for project concerns, and complete ASI packages, RFI’s, and submittals.

The Mighty Argo

The development of a cable car, adjacent to the Argo Mill and Tunnel in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The car will climb 1300’ up Rosa Gulch to the Argo Landing, featuring a bar and restaurant, saloon, amphitheater, viewing decks, an observation trestle, and pedestrian plazas. My role was help produce construction documents and ASI packages, assist in renderings, and create presentations for client meetings.through the DD, CD, and CA phases of the project.

This project re-imagines the afterlife of the largest and oldest water treatment plant in San Francisco. The treatment plant is located in the poorest and most marginalized neighborhood in San Francisco. Through our proposal, the phases of the cleansing process become a gestural and interactive exhibition, in effort to communicate the severity of waste and pollution. A constructed wetland connects the treatment plant to the Bay as an additional step to the process, which also provides numerous environmental benefits. Along with educational purposes, the project houses a laboratory and solutions center, thermal baths, open green space, and provides visibility to this industrial, marginalized area within San Francisco.

The day in the life of a frequent visitor starts through them using the Park n Ride as a parking. in the case the person has children, they would drop their child at the Daycare facility before taking the bus or walking to work. During or on their way back from work they would order grocries through the app on their phone.

GROW

Existing industrial agriculture supports food insecurity, creates and amplifies climate threats, and enforces inequality amongst groups of people. Through this project, we are critiquing these issues, to propose a holistic approach that addresses nearly every avenue of food systems, into one design model. Our goal is to nurture close relationships between people and where their food is grown. This will bring production directly to where the demand is, putting control back into the hands of people, and in, turn increasing access and reducing food miles. The best building typologies for these new systems are centered around the concept of transportation as a hub, specifically Park and Rides, because these are spaces people already frequent to. This project utilitizes an existing Park and Ride in Des Moines, Iowa to house vertical gardens for growth, purchase, distribution, and exhibition of food, and serves as a learning model for the system to be copied throughout the country.

After ordering, they go to the front desk at GROW where someone confirms their order and brings their purchase from the refrigerators over in a crate. The visitor has to transfer their produce from the crate to a reusable bag. Finally, the parent picks up their child from the Daycare and head home for the day.
