CAMPUS RESEARCH DAY LIBRARY SCHOLARSHIP

March 30 is the next important event deadline

Student worker scholarship fund

Campus Research Day 2021 will be held virtually on April 15th. The next important deadline for the event is March 30, 2021.

McKee Library’s Marge Seifert Scholarship is available to students who have worked for the library a minimum of one year for 8 hours per week or more, maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, and meet the financial need qualification. If you would like to contribute to the Marge Seifert Scholarship fund, please go to southern.edu/

Oral Presentation Requirement Oral presentation presenters must attach the full text of their research paper or a working draft (oral presentations) in KnowledgeExchange by March 30. Presentations are not considered complete until this step is finalized. This is also the final date to change your title or withdraw from the event, if necessary. Presenters will not be assigned to a timeslot until after March 30th. After this date, names and presentation titles will be included in the electronic Campus Research Day program. Poster Presentation Requirements Poster presentation presenters can make changes to poster titles in KnowledgeExchange until March 30. This is also the final date to change a title or withdraw from the event, if necessary. After March 30, names and presentation titles will be included in the electronic Campus Research Day program. The final deadline for poster presenters is April 9, 2021. Presenters will need to submit the following by then: 1. A PDF of the digital poster in

KnowledgeExchange 2. A 5-minute video talking about the research. This video will feature the poster in the background and the presenter in a sub-screen. Directions for completing this video, which will be done on Panopto, will be sent to the presenters via email. Presentations are not considered complete until these two steps are finalized. Volunteers Needed We are in need of faculty volunteers to serve as evaluators for our noncompeting sessions. These sessions will take place via Zoom from 9:30 to 10:45 am. There will possibly be an afternoon session as well. Faculty evaluators are responsible for assessing student presentations. An evaluation rubric will be provided. LITTLE FREE LIBRARY

Little Free Library thriving on university campus Have you visited Little Free Library recently? Located across from the Garden of Prayer on the promenade, this lending library provides our campus community with access to free books. Since being installed in Summer 2017, the little library has been selfsustaining, with members of our own community

continually adding new titles to the revolving collection. Borrowed books do not have to be returned. Any books are allowed to be donated as long as they are appropriate for campus. Questions Please contact Deyse Bravo at dbravo@southern. edu with questions about the
