The life story of Gerrit Arie Jongejan (1876-1946), Sweet is The Work documents Gerrit's early life, his conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and his constant efforts as a missionary that would ultimately culminate in his death while serving as one of the first LDS missionaries to return to the Netherlands after World War II. It also includes the story of the Jongejan family's miraculous immigration to the United States, their joys and sorrows as they struggled through the Great Depression and two world wars, and the legacy Gerrit left to his family and descendants.
