Sports Marketing Manager Job Description and Profile The Sports Marketing Manager will manage and develop strategic partnerships, advertisements, promotions, direct emails, events, and assess programs across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities
Work inventively to brainstorm new thoughts in the market to progress the Wichita Hoops/Fast Forward/Next Level, & ICT Mavs brands forward while maintaining the various attributes of each individual organization Create marketing strategy around our targeted sports segments/brands/programs Marketing the sports related brands/programs/events via promotions, advertising, merchandising, direct and interactive marketing, and customer events Coordinate the design and production of marketing materials, coordinating activities and events with the Facility Events Coordinator Develop fundamental print & web content which includes brochures, videos, photos, etc. Define and develop promotions to achieve successful marketing campaigns, messages, banners via print & social media blasts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, e-mails) Develop and deliver direct communication strategies to achieve customer retention and acquisition objectives relating to sports teams/programs/activities Serve as a media contact & submit press releases and crafting news stories for distribution to media outlets Engage in effective public relations and media relations Promote corporate sales, pitches to sponsors in order to secure corporate sponsorships Coordinate merchandising and licensing agreements Increase gate/concession revenue and attendance at all facility events Create and manage resource calendar in order to meet all the public relations and marketing milestones Manage budgets and create marketing, performance and communication plans for all tactical partnerships Analyze and optimize campaign performance to improve return on investment Skills and Specifications
In-depth knowledge of advertising, event planning, and media relations Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Highly motivated and a sports enthusiast Ability to operate independently on various tasks and projects with strong multitasking skills Strong attention to detail and solid writing and reporting skills Strong interpersonal communication skills and solid project management skills Ability to work effectively with flexibility, high energy, patience and enthusiasm Ability to work with a wide range of people (i.e. coaches, administrators, athletes, media contacts, and corporate representatives) Crisis management skills (i.e. handling of unflattering situations potentially affecting various programs, coaches, staff, athletes, or the facility in general Education and Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, Journalism, Sports Management or Sports Marketing or related field from an accredited institution Previous Marketing and Sales experience
