BUILDING INDUSTRY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS If you are ready to take the leap and build on your career in construction, our industry Foundation can help. Financial assistance can be used towards course fees, the development of a tool kit or other resources to support your career.

Best if you're new to the industry

EARLY CAREER SCHOLARSHIP - $2,200 This is available to you for if you would like to undertake a pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship or further training. The funds are split into two: › $1200 towards approved course fees › $1000 worth of quality tools relevant to your trade

CAREER ADVANCEMENT SCHOLARSHIP - UP TO $5,000 Best if you're building on your skills

This is available to you if you are pursuing a qualification above Certificate III level or approved professional development in a construction or related field.

Areas in which these funds could be used include builder registration, industry need/skills shortages, sustainablity and technology and innovation.

Best if you want to be a pioneer in your field

LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP - UP TO $10,000 This is available to you if you are ready to lead; whether you want to reach your own leadership potential, or focus your attention on an innovative, industry-leading field. Funded initiatives could include tertiary studies or research trips.

Additional Awards AIB Florence M Taylor Award Judging for this Award is based on academic performance. This could include successful completion of schooling or the pursuit of further studies. The winner of this category also shows perseverance, integrity, ability to mix with others and determination to resolve issues. This can be awarded to any interviewed metropolitan apprentice.

Brian Fitzmaurice Award Selected by Rebecca Casson, CEO, Master Builders Victoria, this is awarded to a company who has shown outstanding dedication towards training apprentices. This can be awarded to an employer of any interviewed metropolitan apprentice.

Master Builders Building Industry Foundation Award This is awarded to an apprentice who has achieved success, aspires to continue learning and developing and may also have overcome some challenges during their apprenticeship. Success can be in the form of excellent results, or demonstration of a particular quality such as dedication, persistence, or continual improvement.

President’s Award This is awarded to any apprentice who the judges believe deserves some encouragement and recognition to be able to shine. Nominees for this category include selected metropolitan apprentices and Chairman’s Award winners from the 2020 Regional Apprentice of the Year Awards held earlier this year.

Major Awards Employer Nominated Apprentice of the Year This can be awarded to any interviewed metropolitan apprentice who has been nominated by their employer who is also a Master Builders Member.

Regional Apprentice of the Year This can be awarded to any regional Training Provider Apprentice of the Year or any regional Employer Nominated Apprentice of the Year.

Metropolitan Apprentice of the Year This can be awarded to any interviewed metropolitan apprentice who has been nominated by their training provider.

State Apprentice of the Year This is awarded to the most outstanding apprentice from the Regional Apprentice of the Year, Employer Nominated Apprentice of the Year and Metropolitan Apprentice of the Year.
