• Commercial furniture provider The Meeting Pod Company was signposted to £28,000 of financial support to help expand its Isle of Wight manufacturing facility and produce additional moulds to accelerate product development. Demand for the company’s bespoke composite-based ‘flexible working zones’ has grown dramatically with installations being completed across the UK alongside interest from international markets.
• BookMyGarage.com was nurtured as a start-up by Solent LEP with a bridging the gap grant of £42,500 in 2013. This grant persuaded the founders to base the business at Portsmouth City’s Lakeside campus. Founders Karen and Douglas Rotberg said that moving to Portsmouth was one of the success factors which made BookMyGarage.com the UK’s 35th fastest growth business in Britain in 2018. The company has grown now to 40 full time team members.
