CROESO I ABERTAWE Mae gan Abertawe gryn dipyn i’w gynnig – ein treftadaeth gyfoethog, ein brwdfrydedd dros arloesedd, canol y ddinas sy’n newid ar ôl lefelau digynsail o fuddsoddiad ac ansawdd bywyd unigryw.

WELCOME TO SWANSEA Swansea has a huge amount to offer – our rich heritage, passion for innovation, changing city centre with unprecedented levels of investment and unique quality of life.

This Guide showcases what Swansea can offer as a business location and the opportunities available.

At the heart of the city centre the Digital Village will offer flexible, affordable office space with cutting-edge digital communications. It will provide the ideal location for technology and creative businesses with a range of value added amenities. Many of the city’s buildings are being brought back into use in new and imaginative ways, which, when combined with all the new developments planned, will create over 280,000 sq.ft of new office space.

The box village development planned for the SA1 Waterfront will offer affordable space for start-up companies, bringing them together with students and academics from University of Wales Trinity Saint David to share expertise and explore new areas for growth.

A new 3,500 capacity indoor Digital Arena is underway, along with the Hafod Copperworks site - former site of the world’s largest copperworks is being revamped, and Skyline is developing an exciting luge and cable car leisure facility to Kilvey Hill, dramatically overlooking the city centre. These developments will attract tens of thousands of new visitors to the city, and create new spending and supply opportunities for businesses.

REGENERATION SWANSEA PARTNERSHIP

Regeneration Swansea is a local partnership driving forward the economic regeneration of Swansea with a focus on maximising benefits for Swansea residents and companies.

The partnership meets monthly and membership includes the private sector; local universities and college; voluntary sector and housing associations working together to maximise economic benefits from regeneration projects in order to improve the prosperity of the local area and its people.

In the last year it has endorsed a number of schemes to bring vacant property back into use as commercial and housing opportunities, working with applicants to maximise the benefits for the local economy.

There is also a sub-group looking at regenerating the local high streets in district centres. As a pilot it is working in Morriston on heritage-led regeneration activities, focusing on bringing vacant properties back into use and diversifying use of the high street, working with local businesses and key employers to increase footfall.

The partnership is able to support any business looking to locate in Swansea and can put you in touch with relevant agencies and local business contacts to help set up or relocate your business.

There is also a local Rural Development Partnership supporting development of the rural economy, along with a recently established Food Group working with local food and drink businesses to promote and develop this sector.
