The Bracewell family have been farming in Chorley since 1954 and, capitalising upon an entrepreneurial spirit, saw opportunities to produce pet food at the Plocks Farm site in 1993. Chorley is extremely important to GA as it is where the business started and has developed ever since. By utilising local talent the company now has 873 colleagues, agency workers and contractors that work full time for GA. The company has a ten year plan to invest circa £150m in the production facilities at Plocks Farm, introducing cutting edge technology and state-of-the-art testing laboratories. GA’s headquarters are based at Buckshaw Village where all the key service teams are located including Finance, Sales, Nutrition, Marketing, Projects, R&D and Design, and will also experience considerable investment. Diverse Automotive Technicians

Diverse Automotive Technicians (datechs.co.uk) is a group of motor trade businesses based in Adlington that refurbish alloy wheels (diamond cut and painted), undertake smart car & van bodywork repairs and provide comprehensive tyre services. Clients include car supermarkets, dealerships, auction houses, leasing companies, body shops and retail customers.

The group occupies 4 units totalling over 10,000 sq ft of workshops on Adlington South Business Park. It also operates two mobile units that service motor trade and private customers across the North West and fixed PODs at venues in Cheshire and Essex providing full alloy wheel refurbishments for high-volume motor trade operations. The latest addition to the DA Techs business portfolio is the management and operation of a large-scale wheel refurbishment business in Cambridgeshire.

In total, DA Techs now employs over 30 employees, with a turnover exceeding £1m, having started trading in February 2017. DA Techs invented a UK first, the concept of making a lathe portable and taking the solution to the client. The longer-term plans see the business continue to grow and create new jobs across the group but remain headquartered in Chorley.
