WHAT IS MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS (MIS)?

MIS focuses on teamwork, leadership, project management, customer service, underlying business theories, and data analysis to meet the challenges presented by rapidly evolving information technology and the need to effectively incorporate this technology into business strategy and day-to-day operations.

WHAT DOES AN MIS PROFESSIONAL DO ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS? MIS professionals advance the goals and operations of organizations by synthesizing and systemizing information in key areas of interest and producing timely, accurate information that contributes to the end-objectives of an organization.

MIS professionals embark on careers in a wide array of information technology (IT) roles in companies from various industries, including IT Consulting, Finance, Insurance, Government, System Analytics, Computer Systems Design and related services.

WHAT IMPACT DOES AN MIS PROFESSIONAL HAVE ON SOCIETY? MIS professionals improve people’s lives by analyzing, designing, and implementing information technology systems required by diverse business activities in areas such as information security, information integration, and information exchange.
