MAYO PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
The heart of arts & entertainment in Morristown since 1994.

The heart of arts & entertainment in Morristown since 1994.
Welcome to Mayo Performing Arts Center as we celebrate our 30th anniversary season!
Three decades ago, a group of dedicated volunteers attempted to take a boarded up, run-down movie theatre and make a go of it as a concert venue. The odds were stacked against success. Previous attempts had failed. And the building was in no condition to operate as a concert hall.
It was said it would take a miracle. But where once mushrooms sprouted from the floor, grew a dream. And through determination and inspiration, renovation and innovation, sprang a miracle that arose as a community preserved its cultural crown jewel.
Today, that tattered building has become home to one of the leading arts organizations in the country, hosting over 200 events, with attendance of over 240,000 annually. Through good times and challenging times, MPAC has been where our community has turned to find respite and joy through a celebration of the arts.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting our organization over the past thirty years. It is with deep appreciation that we reflect on the millions of people who have walked through our doors over that time to enjoy, partake in and be inspired by the arts.
MPAC’s future is bright – we have exciting and ambitious plans ahead. Thank you so much for being part of making our venue the heart of arts and entertainment in the region – this year and for the past 30 years. Enjoy the show!

The 2024-2025 season marks the 30th anniversary of Mayo Performing Arts Center. Originally built as Morristownʼs premier movie theater in 1937 and called The Community Theatre, MPAC (renamed in 2009) was saved from the wrecking ball in 1994 by a group of community volunteers who envisioned a vibrant arts center.
Much has changed since then! Today, MPAC remains Morristownʼs crown jewel, and has evolved into a world-renowned performing arts center. Tony Bennett, Ringo Starr, Jerry Seinfeld, Gladys Knight, and many more of the worldʼs best known performers have graced the stage. It is the Morris County home to the New Jersey Symphony and New Jersey Ballet, and over the years has provided space for many other New Jersey-based arts organizations.
Beyond main stage performances, MPACʼs education and community engagement programs provide arts experiences for children and adults in our region through free programs, ticketed events and tuition-based classes. MPAC education initiatives, which include our performing arts school, student recognition programs, in-theatre field trips, family shows, residency programs and The Miracle Project, an arts program for children with autism and other specific needs, touch the lives of over 27,000 children and families annually.
Mayo Performing Arts Center offers parking solutions to make your theatre experience stress free. Please refer to your pre-show email or MPACʼs online Preshow Planner for show-specific information.

Old Crow Medicine Show is an American roots band known for their blend of traditional country, old-time string music, bluegrass, and folk. Formed in 1998 in Ithaca, NY, the band rose to prominence after being discovered by bluegrass legend Doc Watson. Their breakthrough came with the song “Wagon Wheel,” which became a platinum hit and has since become a modern American classic.
The band has earned critical acclaim and industry recognition including two Grammy Awards, a Trailblazer award from Americana Music Association, and induction into the
Hensley (Opener)
GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter/ guitarist and 2023 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Guitar Player of the Year Trey Hensley has been called a “musical phenom” by NPR, “a guitarslinging superhero” by Bluegrass Today and “Nashville’s hottest young player” by Acoustic Guitar magazine. A multiple GRAMMY® nominee widely recognized for his world class musicianship and guitar prowess (Rolling Stone observes “Trey Hensley shreds”), Hensley was invited to perform alongside many of the world’s greatest guitarists at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2023 in Los Angeles. That same year, Hensley was a featured player in a Guitar World magazine piece titled “6 Blazing Bluegrass Guitarists You Need To Hear.” But with Hensley it’s not just the guitar that does the talking—he’s also well known for his rich, soulful and powerful baritone vocals with echoes of Merle Haggard and George Jones (as Holler put it: “Hensley possesses a strikingly resonate, emotional voice, one that makes him a potent singer outside of his superb finger-picking ability.”)
For the past decade, Hensley has been one half of the award-winning, critically-acclaimed
Grand Ole Opry. Their latest Grammy nominated album, Jubilee, was released in 2023. Old Crow Medicine Show is also known for their relentless touring and electrifying live shows, which have captivated audiences at festivals, concert halls, and intimate venues alike. Their annual New Year’s Eve shows at the Ryman Auditorium are a Nashville tradition. With music that not only honors the traditions of the past but also continues to inspire new generations of fans, Old Crow Medicine Show has become a beloved fixture in the American music landscape.
powerhouse duo Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley. With a musical DNA made up of an impressive, eclectic melting pot of artists such as The Allman Brothers Band, Merle Haggard, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tom Petty, Jimi Hendrix, and The Band, it’s no surprise that Hensley’s impressive list of collaborations includes a diverse list of extraordinary artists: Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, Taj Mahal, Tommy Emmanuel, Marty Stuart, Earl Scruggs, Dolly Parton, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Little Feat, Old Crow Medicine Show, Stone Temple Pilots, Steve Vai, Molly Tuttle, Leftover Salmon and many more. Hensley received his first GRAMMY® Award at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in L.A. on Feb. 2, 2025 as a member of The Taj Mahal Sextet, whose recording Swingin’ Live At The Church In Tulsa won in the Best Traditional Blues Album category. Hensley’s other-worldly guitar playing has resulted in earning more than a third of a million social media followers while attracting many legendary guitar players as fans, including former Deep Purple founding guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell and Tommy Emmanuel, CGP.
