Among the most spacious on Europe’s waters, measuring between 160 and 180 square feet, these suites are a relaxing retreat for you to unwind in each day.

Stateroom:

Located on the Rivera Deck, staterooms range from 153 to 170 square feet, larger than the average standard stateroom on European waters. All Emerald Staterooms feature a window, table and chairs, deluxe bedding, plenty of storage space and an en-suite bathroom with luxurious toiletries.

The Terrace

Partly indoor and outdoor, this beautiful decked area at the front of our StarShips provides a lovely retreat from which to enjoy a light breakfast, light lunch or snack in a relaxed setting. We’ll even serve afternoon tea as you soak up the scenery from this spectacular vantage point, whatever the weather.

Located on the top deck of our Star-Ships, head to the Sun Deck* for panoramic rooftop views of the surrounding landscape. Stretch your legs on the walking track, challenge a fellow guest to some friendly competition in the games area*, and even enjoy a weekly BBQ prepared by our talented chefs.

Your overall wellness is our priority, and we want you to return home feeling rested and relaxed. Our onboard Wellness Area is home to a well-equipped gym, perfect for keeping up with any existing exercise regimes. Pool by day, cinema by night†

Floor-to-ceiling windows welcome in the surrounding landscape, flooding this sanctuary of calm with light. The retractable roof opens to welcome in the revitalising fresh river air as you take a dip in the heated pool, enjoying ‘endless swims’ with the propulsive current. Relax on the lounge chairs on the decking area while you read a book. Then, on selected evenings, as the floor rises through the pool, the screen is lowered and the popcorn prepared for a selection of films and concerts to be enjoyed from the comfort of our plush chairs.

Serenity Pool

Emerald Radiance, sailing Portugal’s Douro River, has been custom designed for a warmer climate. The indoor pool has been replaced with a spa-style heated Serenity Pool located on the Sun Deck. A truly idyllic setting from which to make the most of the river breeze as you bask in the golden Portuguese sun, and, on movie evenings, join us to watch a film under the stars.

Tulip Time on Jewels of the Rhine

Known as the ‘Garden of Europe’, Keukenhof is one of the world’s largest flower gardens and home to approximately seven million flower bulbs. Explore modern and classic Amsterdam before you sail the countryside taking in the windmills and tulip fields. Enjoy guided walking tours of modern Cologne and ancient Koblenz. Visit Schwetzingen Palace and gardens. Soak up Strasbourg’s beautiful architecture on a walking tour. Visit Breisach, Germany and Neuf-Brisach, France and discover two cities divided by the Rhine. Finally, enjoy two nights in the cosmopolitan city of Lucerne, Switzerland, which is set against the picturesque Swiss Alps.

DAY 1 Depart the USA: Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

DAY 2 Amsterdam, the Netherlands: Welcome to Amsterdam, a fascinating 700-year-old city of picturesque canals, world class museums, and cafés. You will be met and transferred from the airport to your Emerald Cruises Star-Ship. Become acquainted with the amenities of your ship, or begin exploring the city. This evening, join your fellow travelers for dinner onboard. Meal: D

DAY 3 Amsterdam: This morning, depart by coach for an included visit to Keukenhof Gardens. Discover why it’s called the ‘Garden of Europe’ as you admire gorgeous flowers at the peak of tulip season. Colorful displays of tulips, hyacinths, orchids and other flowers stretch as far as the eye can see as you stroll along the perfectly manicured meandering paths. Return to the ship for your first day cruising through the Dutch countryside, passing windmills and sailing through locks towards the Rhine River. Tonight, enjoy a welcome reception and gala dinner. DAY 4 Cologne, Germany: Cruise along the Rhine River to Cologne. Founded by the Romans, the city is one of Germany’s oldest and famous for its magnificent World–Heritage listed gothic cathedral. This afternoon upon arrival, visit Cologne Botanical Gardens. A local expert accompanies you through the gardens, explaining about the flora and history of the park. Continue with a local guide on an included walking tour of the city, touching on the historical charm of the Old Town.

Traverse quaint alleyways and see historic monuments. The tour concludes at the cathedral, whose twin spires dominate the skyline. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 5 Koblenz: Cruise to the 2000-year-old town of Koblenz, situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle Rivers. Enjoy a walking tour of Koblenz seeing the German Corner where the 2 rivers meet, the Church of Our Lady, and visit the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress by cable car on the opposite side of the river. This fortress was part of the Prussian defense against the French in the 19th century and later used as a headquarters for the American military during WWII. This afternoon, sail through the spectacular UNESCO World-Heritage listed Rhine Gorge. Pass countless medieval castles and vineyards lining the shores of this section of the river, with photo opportunities around every bend. See the infamous Lorelei statue and Pfalzgrafenstein Castle, built on an island in the middle of the river as a medieval toll station. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 6 Ludwigshafen – Schwetzingen: Relax onboard as the vessel cruises along the Rhine River to Ludwigshafen. Upon arrival travel by coach to visit Schwetzingen Palace,

famous for the beauty and harmony of its gardens. Visit the interior of the palace, along with the beautiful gardens, maintained in their original design. Today they remain a cultural heritage site of European significance, and contain more than 100 sculptures scattered throughout the grounds. Alternatively, embark on an active journey to the quaint wellness town of Bad-Dürkheim for a hike through the beautiful vineyards. Meals: B, L, D

Known for its medieval black and white timber-framed buildings, old tanning houses, baroque sandstone buildings, canals and river locks, the city’s star attraction is the cathedral, dominating the main square. DAY 5 Cairo / Luxor: Depart for the Cairo airport for an early morning flight to Luxor, previously known as Thebes, and founded in 1400 BC. Upon arrival, exploration begins with a visit to the temples. Two grandiose seated statues greet you upon entering the Luxor Temple Complex, one of the best-preserved ancient sites in the world. Filled with courtyards, statues, and a 32-column Hypostyle Hall, the grounds are sure to amaze. In comparison, the Karnak Temple Complex is much larger and is the largest religious building ever constructed. Decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and a large Hypostyle Hall with carved columns will leave you in awe. Reboard the coach for the short journey to the embarkation point of your ship. Enjoy a relaxing lunch onboard and time to acquaint yourself with the amenities of the vessel. This afternoon, join your guide for a visit to the Papyrus Institute to learn about this important product, how it’s made, and its use throughout history. DAY 6 Luxor / Edfu: Begin the day with an optional sunrise hot air balloon ride over the amazing sites of the area. After breakfast, today’s excursion visits the stunning tombs at the Valley of the Kings where, for a

period of nearly 500 years, tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. The walls of the tombs are covered with hieroglyphic writing including text from the Book of the Dead. You’ll visit King Tut’s tomb, and the Queen Hatshepsut Temple which took fifteen years to complete, between the 7th and the 22nd years of her reign. A photo stop is made by the giant Colossi of Memnon before reboarding the ship and departing Luxor. This afternoon, sail to Edfu located on the west bank of the Nile River, some sixty miles south of Luxor. Its ancient name was Wetjeset-Hrw, or “The Place Where Horus is Extolled”. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 7 Edfu / Kom Ombo: After breakfast, visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu which is dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god. Enjoy a cooking class onboard as you sail to the next port. Upon arrival, visit the unusual Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to both Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. Built by one of Egypt’s greatest Pharaoh’s, Ramses II, the larger temple celebrates himself, and the smaller honors his favorite wife, Queen Nefertari. DAY 3 MV Galápagos Legend: After breakfast, board your flight to Baltra. Upon arrival, embark the MV Galápagos Legend for a four-night cruise. Set sail for Mosquera Islet, a tiny, low lying islet covered in coral sand. Experience your first wet landing and see lazy sea lions sunning themselves on the sand as you reach the shore. Shorebirds as well as herons, lava gulls and boobies are also found here. While snorkeling, one can often see sharks, rays and barracuda.

DAY 4 Egas Port (Santiago Island) – Rabida Island:

This morning, visit the fourth largest island in the Galápagos, Santiago Island. It provides spectacular views of powerful volcanic activity. A wet landing brings you to Egas Port, a black volcanic sand beach, visited by Darwin in 1835. The unique, truly striking layered terrain of the Santiago shore is home to a variety of animals including the bizarre yellow-crowned night heron, sea lions and lava lizards.

Cruising Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands

Marine wildlife including lobster, starfish and marine iguanas graze on algae beds alongside Sally lightfoot crabs. You may also see colonies of endemic fur seals swimming in cool-water volcanic rock pools. The afternoon’s adventure is on Rabida Island. Lying at the heart of the archipelago, this dramatic island, with its distinctive red-sand beach, is home to sea lions, mockingbirds, finches, endemic Galápagos doves and vermillion flycatchers.

A walk takes you through a forest of palo santo and cacti to a beautiful overview of the bay. During a dinghy ride along the marine cliffs, observe nesting seabirds. Snorkeling here can be excellent, often with large schools of black-striped salemas, sea lions and the ubiquitous turtles. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 5 Urbina Bay and Tangus Cove (Isabela Island): Start your day with a wet landing on the volcanic black beach at Urbina Bay. In 1954, a volcano uplifted the coral reef, leaving marine skeletons that tell of its ancient past. Look for Darwin’s finches, land iguanas and the Galápagos cotton flower in bloom. After a short walk

inland, outstanding snorkeling awaits in the crystal clear waters, showcasing fascinating marine life. Amazing views of the Alcedo Volcano, which spewed an unusual combination of rhyolite and basalt lava, stands as a powerful backdrop and reminder of nature’s power.

This afternoon, a dry landing takes you into Tangus Cove. A well-known hideout in the days of pirates, it was also one of the few sites visited by Darwin and the HMS Beagle in 1835. A trail walk leads to Darwin’s salt-water crater lake with excellent views of lava fields and volcanic formations. The dinghy ride along the shoreline showcases blue-footed boobies, brown noddys, terns, and other seabirds. You can also snorkel in the deep water, along the submerged wall with turtles and native fish. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 6 Punta Espinosa (Fernandina Island) – Punta

Vicente Roca (Isabela Island): Arrive via dry landing at Espinosa Point on Fernandina Island, one of the most well-preserved of the Galápagos Islands. Discover one of the world’s most pristine island ecosystems as you observe hundreds of prehistoric marine iguanas sunbathing on black lava rocks.

Quiet now as you encounter flightless cormorants on their nesting site, the only place in the world to find this species. These birds once flew, but over time, adapted to their environment and lost their ability to fly. Be on the lookout for the major predator on the island, the Galápagos hawk. This afternoon, visit Vicente Roca Point. This is a marineonly visitor site with great opportunities for deep-water snorkeling. See plenty of red-lipped batfish, sea horses, frogfish, marine turtles, sunfish, nudibranchs and octopi in these waters. On a dinghy ride along the coast, observe brown pelicans, penguins, flightless cormorants, nazca and blue-footed boobies, all ready to pose for pictures!

DAY 7 Santa Cruz Island / Guayaquil: As your cruise comes to an end, you’ll be filled with wonder at the sights and sounds of the Galápagos Islands. Disembark the vessel after a dry landing and journey by coach from the coast to the dense humid forest of the mountains and the Highlands Tortoise Reserve. A variety of birds - tree

and ground finches, vermillion flycatchers, paint-billed crakes, yellow warblers and cattle egrets (usually standing on the tortoises’ shell!) make this their home, while the Galápagos giant tortoises are also seen meandering through pastures in their natural habitat.

Continue to the Baltra airport for your flight to Guayaquil. Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour with a local guide as you stroll along the charming river promenade and see Centenario Park dedicated to the independence and freedom of the old city. Guaranteed Share Program for Single Travelers: If you are traveling alone and would like a roommate for cost savings, let us know at the time of booking your reservation. Travelers must be non-smokers and cannot use a medical sleeping device to be eligible. Participants will be paired with another traveler of the same gender at the twin rate. If no roommate is available, you will get a single room at the twin rate. Guaranteed share reservations are available until the final payment period of a tour.

Roommate Cancellation: If you are booked as a “twin” and your roommate cancels their reservation, and you cannot find another roommate, you may either travel as a guaranteed share (see above) or travel as a single and pay the single supplement.

Health and Walking on Tour: Some sites visited have limited motorcoach access and may involve considerable walking, stairs or inclines. Travelers should be in reasonably good health. Some programs include destinations in higher elevations that may have varying effects on individual travelers. Tour Managers and Coach Drivers cannot lift or assist travelers into transportation vehicles. Mayflower Cruises & Tours requires that persons requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the assistance.

Revision Fees: A fee of $25 per person per transaction will be charged for any changes, revisions or alterations made to your reservation after confirmation.

Luggage Handling: The tour cost includes porterage for one average size suitcase. A charge of $5.00 per hotel will be collected by the Tour Manager for each additional piece of luggage that you bring.

Travel Documents: Your travel documents will be in your possession approximately 14 days prior to departure. Documents include tour itinerary, departure and arrival information and times, hotel and ship information, clothing suggestions, baggage tags, plus any helpful hints.

Mayflower Loyalty Program, First Time Travelers and Referral Rewards: Earn $150.00 travel credit for every River Cruise and Small Ship Adventure taken with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. No restrictions to the amount of credits an individual can acquire. Loyalty Credits can be apply to any reservation made within one year of the return of the tour they were earned on. Multiple credits can be used on a single tour. Credits are nontransferable but can be combined with Referral Rewards and Mayflower promotional savings.*

First Time Travelers, earn $100.00 to be applied to their first reservation with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. FTTs cannot be combined with any Free Airfare promotional offer. With Mayflower’s Referral Rewards program you can earn hundreds of travel dollars when you refer a friend to us. Here is how it works – refer a friend that is NEW to Mayflower Cruises & Tours and you will earn up to a $100 travel savings when your friend makes a reservation and pays the deposit on a tour that is five days or longer. The savings is per friend. So if you bring a couple that is new to Mayflower – you will earn up to $100 x 2 = $200 travel savings. You can apply this savings on upcoming tours* you have with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. Your Friend also gets a First-Time Traveler savings of up to $100. *Some restrictions apply, call for details.

Smoke Free Environment: Although smoking is not allowed on the motorcoach, frequent rest/smoking stops are made.

Travelers with Special Needs: You must advise Mayflower at the time your booking is made of any disability requiring special attention. Mayflower will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of our travelers. Be aware that the Americans with Disabilities Act is applicable only within the United States and that accommodations for disabled travelers outside the United States may be more limited. If a traveler requires assistance, we require that he/she be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the assistance. Neither Mayflower personnel, nor its suppliers, may lift or physically assist travelers. If a traveler thinks he/she might need assistance during a trip, he/she should call Mayflower to determine what assistance might reasonably be provided. If special arrangements are provided, and these arrangements add to the Tour Operator’s cost, the Tour Member will be responsible to pay the additional costs. Mayflower cannot provide special individual assistance to travelers with special needs for walking, dining or other routine activities.

Membership: Mayflower reserves the right to withhold tour membership, or to require any traveler to leave a tour at any time, when such action is determined by Mayflower to be in the best interests of the traveler or the tour group. Children must be at least six years of age and accompanied at all times by a guardian.

Force Majeure: Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of Force Majeure . “Force Majeure” means any event which we or the supplier of the services in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid.

In common with other companies, Mayflower acts only as an agent for Tour Members in arranging room accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, admissions and restaurants. Further, you should understand that the $1 Million posted by Mayflower Cruises & Tours may be sufficient to provide only a partial recovery of the advance payments received by Mayflower Cruises & Tours.

Tour Activity Level: Travelers should be in reasonably good health. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.

1. This program has a leisurely pace with minimal activity such as climbing stairs, boarding the motorcoach and walking within the hotels and ships.

2. Average physical activity on this program requires the ability to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, sometimes over uneven surfaces.

3. A blend of longer and shorter touring days with walking tours. Expect more of the touring to be over uneven surfaces and involve more stairs.

4. Longer touring days with more walking tours mixed with some periods of standing. Expect more of the touring to be over uneven surfaces and involve stairs.

5. A more physical touring experience based on the destination. Involves longer walking tours, on uneven surfaces, may involve inclines, stair climbing, windy or wet conditions at sites and periods of standing. Expect some of the experiences to occur during the evening.

Airline Security Measures: The Transportation Security Administration requires that travelers provide their name exactly to their airline as it appears on their passport to be used while traveling, along with their date of birth and gender when making reservations to fly from the U.S. When making your flight reservations through Mayflower Cruises & Tours, you will be asked for this information by our staff. Due to airline security measures, your passport must match your airline ticket name and your tour reservation name or you may be denied aircraft boarding.

Passport & Visas: Each U.S. citizen must have a valid passport. Expiration date of passport should be at least six months after the return date of the tour. If you don’t have a passport, call our office and we’ll tell you how to apply for one. Some countries require visas for entry by U.S. citizens. We will send instructions for visa applications if a visa is required for your tour. Holders of non-U.S. passports should contact their nearest consulate and inquire about the necessary passport or visa documentation required for entry into the countries visited. Visa fees and cost of obtaining a visa are not included in the tour price and are the responsibility of the traveler.

Medical Requirements: Many countries have immunization requirements. Some countries require foreign visitors to have valid medical insurance on entry. Requirements vary by country and can change. Please check with your travel professional or call our office for details on which tours need these requirements. Specific instructions will be sent to you at 90 days prior to departure if your tour requires these conditions. Mayflower Cruises & Tours cannot be liable for delay or denial of entry due to missing documents.

Itinerary Changes: There may be times when we may have to alter the scheduled itinerary, cruise vessels, hotels, shore excursions etc. due to weather conditions or conditions on the river in regards to water levels, locks, or other delays. Any changes in the itinerary due to these conditions will not result in eligibility for a refund. All itineraries are subject to change without prior notice and may need to be altered due to water level and other weather conditions.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: Payments for land, air and cruise arrangements (less the deposit amount) will be refunded when cancellations are received prior to the final payment due date noted above. “Traveling Companion” means a person or persons whose names appear with Yours on the same Travel Arrangements and who, during Your Trip, will accompany You. A group or tour organizer, sponsor or leader is not a Traveling Companion as defined, unless sharing accommodations in the same room, cabin, condominium unit, apartment unit or other lodging with You.

Sickness or Injury must require care by a Physician and must commence while coverage is in force for you. This plan does not cover a loss that results from an illness, disease, or other condition (of you, an Immediate Family Member, Traveling Companion or Business Partner), event or circumstance which occurs at a time when this plan is not in force for you.

The insurance benefits of this plan are underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company, Eatontown, NJ.
