HELLO!
I'MMAYARE
Brazilian, from Rio de Janeiro, I chose Portugal to call home. Graduated in Textile Design and Cultural Management, I chose to specialize in Industrial and Product Design in order to enter the Portuguese Design Market with greater ease, in addition to complement my academic education.
I acquired a different view of the world; design not only sharpened my aesthetic, ergonomic and material notions, it also shaped my perceptions about production systems, business administration and presentation of proposals.

RECYCLABLE STUDENTTRAY
The project was developed for restaurants and cafeterias at the University of Porto, using plastic waste itself as a way to guarantee sustainability and practicality in students’ routine.
INCEPTION
TARGETAUDIENCE FORTHERECYCLABLE STUDENTTRAY BRIEFING
Also focusing on plastic waste, the objective of this project is to define the life cycle of plastic as the sum of all the stages that a product goes through to fulfill its objective in the production chain. The main stages are: creation, use and recycling.

ZULAICH
This project is born from a composition inspired by the Portuguese tile tradition and the oriental game, Tangram. The tile is completely recyclable as it gives the material a new life cycle. The Zulaich project allows the user to change the pieces between each other, creating different compositions and can also be used as a decorative object.

INCEPTION
BRIEFING

The concept is to use plastic waste to create a set of pieces that together they form a tile that is both decorative and didactic. This product is based on the Portuguese tile culture, taking inspiration from the tiles in 50s, specifically geometric. In this way, it creates a reference through blue tones and white people, evoking this same culture. For this same reason, the product is aimedessentially for tourists who are interested in the history of this typical Portuguese art.

The main material of this product is plastic bottle caps, used to create the tile. However, there are other materials that were used throughout the project. termination of execution.

IDEATION

The shape of the object was inspired by Portuguese culture in the sense of being a tile, however it is also inspired by the traditional oriental game: Tangram. This is a game that can be placed in different ways, giving rise to different conjugations. In effect, we tried to deconstruct the tangram, transforming it into smaller pieces.

PACKAGING
Paper or cardboard packaging is one of the most used in packaging production, due to its characteristics, wide application, adaptation to formats and possibility of recycling.

STERILIZERBOX
During the COVID pandemic period, there was a need to sterilize objects, such as banknotes that have a high level of circulation and are a possible means of contamination. In this context, this sterilization box was created.

BRIEFING
INCEPTION
In addition to the germicidal action, the UVC radiation emitted by the equipment is capable of inactivating the new coronavirus.
“Biosafety laboratory tests demonstrated that even the lowestpowered equipment we have ever developed, which is a portable surface decontaminator, is capable of eliminating 99% of the coronavirus load in less than a second.
The equipment project arose from a demand at the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, the institution's care support team began searching for equipment on the market for sterilizing environments using UVC in order to assist the manual process of cleaning reserved rooms to care for patients with suspected or confirmed disease.

My main responsibility is to translate concepts and ideas into visual and impactful communications.

VARJO
Although opting for a photorealistic graphical design, ZOAN have chosen to take advantage of the lack of traditional real-world limitations for their new virtual office. The sleek and dark ultramodern building merges seamlessly into an imposing cliff, looming over a restless sea. The design takes inspiration from the rugged landscape of Scandinavian coastlines, and minimalist Nordic architecture, but amplifies the scale to an awe-inspiring level.

“This is no longer a sci-fi dream, or a filler for an empty visionary presentation. We’re making this happen, now. I’ve seen the early builds with the Varjo Aero headset, and the combined effect is so mesmerizing, that I know working life is going to change for better, and I’m proud that my globally located employees will be amongst the first to experience it.”
Miikka Rosendahl, CEO & Co Founder, ZOAN
HYPER-REALISTICDIGITAL FASHIONDESTINATION
“Leading digital-only fashion house The Fabricant and photorealistic metaverse Cornerstone, part of the ZOAN Group, have joined forces to build a highly crafted digital fashion environment that showcases virtual garments at the highest possible visual quality, in a move focused on levelling-up the aesthetic of the industry.
The purpose-built space responds to the digital fashion industry’s business need for a premium showcase for digital garments that matches The Fabricant’s level of craftsmanship. Utilising Cornerstone’s proprietary, state-of-the-art cloud-rendering technology, users are able to access the highly visual photorealistic experience via web browser, instead of having to invest in a costly gaming computer able to run high-end graphics. The showcase event is built in, and provides early access to the Cornerstone metaverse, and will initially host digital couture pieces from The Fabricant’s Wholeland collection. A high quality fashion experience for the Wholeland garments, called ‘Wholeland, Primal Rave’ will take place inside Cornerstone in early September.
