THE MAXTRAX STORY

We’re a household name in the 4WD industry, with well over a decade of experience in producing the world’s best recovery tracks.

Brad McCarthy, author of Dirty Weekends “The Essential 4WD Guides”, devised the idea for MAXTRAX in 2001 after a particularly stressful incident on a remote north Queensland beach where he almost lost his bogged vehicle to the incoming tide, despite being equipped with all of the traditional recovery equipment.

From his experiences, Brad recognised the need for a system that makes vehicle recovery and extraction a safe, simple, one-person task and eliminates the need for any outside assistance such as towing, snatching, or winching.

We tested several types and grades of super tough nylons to create a lightweight, yet durable product that provides superior performance with our focus on the key issues of strength, effectiveness, usability and aesthetics. MAXTRAX was trialled countless times using typical (and not so typical) bogging scenarios and after many late nights and product refinements.

Since then, MAXTRAX have been discovered by 4WD adventurers around the world as the safe, simple, quick and easy method of vehicle recovery. We didn’t stop with the MKII, and the last decade has seen the MAXTRAX product range expand to include the XTREME, the INDEFLATE, the MINI and the JAXBASE! 2020 saw the release of our very own safe, simple Recovery System, designed to take the risk off lying metal out of the equation in a recovery situation.

MAXTRAX MKIIs are the lightweight, easy-to-use vehicle recovery and extraction device that are easily carried by almost anything with four-wheels ensuring an easy way out if your vehicle becomes stuck. The aggressive large cleats on MAXTRAX sink their teeth into the tyre tread and the terrain under your 4WD vehicle to prevent it from slipping back into mud, snow, or sand and make vehicle recovery quick and easy.

Engineered with deep structural beams, the MAXTRAX can easily bear the weight of a fully-laden 4WD over soft terrain.

Use the underside of the ramps to easily shovel debris from around tyres and underbody components, helping you get unstuck quicker.

Only MAXTRAX are constructed with sloping ramps on both ends, allowing you to easily insert beneath your vehicle’s tyres.

The MAXTRAX Mini is a lightweight, easy-to-use recovery board suitable for smaller vehicles or those with limited cargo space. Made from the same supertough engineering-grade reinforced nylon - these recovery boards provide traction and a firm base to get you back on track.

Made from Ultra-High-MolecularWeight-Polyethylene and Polyester the MAXTRAX FUSE SHACKLE is designed to be the controlled failure point of the MAXTRAX RECOVERY SYSTEM if the system is overloaded.

The MAXTRAX CORE SHACKLE is designed to be at the CORE of two interacting MAXTRAX Products or connecting MAXTRAX Products to the vehicle.

MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes (2m, 3m, 5m & 10m)

Produces up to 30% ELONGATION providing a smoother safer recovery. Joining the different length ropes provides flexibility to make kinetic ropes suitable in length to your specific recovery scenario.

Designed to be a static element during a vehicle recovery. Can be used as a Load Sharing Bridle, Tree Trunk Protector or an Extension Rope. Available in 3m & 5m.

Deflating/inflating tyres individually can be a pain; bending over or squatting beside each wheel while you wait for the air to flow in/out of the tyre, constantly stopping to check the pressure. Groan no more! MAXTRAX INDEFLATE makes it quick and easy.

Easily deflate 2 tyres at once, and spend more time adventuring! Featuring a 700kpa (100psi) combination pressure gauge so that you can monitor your tyre pressures while inflating, deflating or equalising the tyre pressures.
