3 Ways To Run A Business With Your Partner Building the world's largest education company is not any easy feat, but carrying it out together with your spouse as your partner can seem a thousand times more daunting. However, husband and wife power couple and founders of BYJU'S, the world's largest education company, Divya Gokulnath, and Byju Raveendran, share their success secrets while maintaining a loving and successful relationship at work and at home. “Research tells us over fifty percent of new business ventures are started by a group of entrepreneurs who complement one another in several ways for entrepreneurial success,” says Dr Lebene Soga of Henley Business School's Centre for Entrepreneurship. In this instance, “we see not just a team of entrepreneurs but lovers who are able to be frank together and take advantage of the advanced level of openness they share to address emergent issues in the commercial,” Soga adds. The husband and wife duo started their journey over 10 years ago when Divya was 21 and had the ability to teach with Byju in India to an auditorium filled with tens and thousands of students. The more they linked to their students, the more they both understood the thing that was missing in education — an urgent need to go from fear of exambased learning to learning based on want to something which fuels a learner's curiosity. Moreover, existing research on family business (small, medium, or large), the problem of trust is paramount. “Who much better than your partner or immediate nearest and dearest are you able to rely upon running a household business,” says associate professor Ashish Malik of the University of Newcastle, Australia. In their research focusing on small and medium family businesses in Hong Kong's fashion clothing industry, Malik, along with colleagues Angie Lee, Piyush Sharma and P J Rosenberger III discovered that interpersonal trust has a stronger mediating impact in the results of incentives (vs. training) on both formal and informal knowledge sharing. Together, Byju and Divya built BYJU'S, backed by Mark Zuckerberg and Sequoia Capital, amongst others, to bring high-quality, accessible, and personalized education to students worldwide and share three ways to perform an effective scale business together with your spouse.
