Preface Photography, both as an artistic form and as a method of documentation, is a medium that has always captivated me. As a young architect searching for inspiration in this fine art, I enrolled myself in a series of photography classes at the Arkansas Arts Center Museum School as an outlet for further exploration. There I learned the techniques of working with black and white film - the physical acts of observing, shooting, processing, and printing in the darkroom. It was meditative, and I found myself easily immersed in the process. The activity not only enhanced the way in which I perceive the environment around me, but also contributed to the way that I understand proportion, balance, and the framing of a view. This collection includes four series of black and white film prints, each shot in different cities, as well as one series of polaroid image transfers and emulsion lifts.
