In order to allow occupants to fully embrace spirituality through space, we have created and manipulated forms to be specific to each of the programs that are connected with nature by having a covered walkway between each of them. Different room heights and sizes allow spaces, like the sanctuary, to feel more intimate, while others tobe for large gatherings. The roof curves in all directions, not only to allow for sunlight and sunshade, but to allow the occupant to flow between each of the spaces.

COMFORT
3RD YEAR - F23
GIRARD ESTATES - PHILADELPHIA
IN COLLABORATION WITH THE VALLEY YOUTH HOUSE WE SET OUT TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE YOUTH OF AGES 15 -18 WITHIN GIRARD ESTATES CAN FIND SANCTUARY AND HOPE. WE AIM TO CREATE SPACES WITHIN THIS ENVIRONMENT THAT WILL OFFER OPPORTUNITIES IN EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE, CREATIVITY, AND REFLECTION.
The outdoor spaces are crafted from wood to foster an inviting and comforting atmosphere. Designed to envelop the area like a warm, protective blanket, the shape creates a sense of comfort ans security. These spaces serve as gathering and event spaces for the children living in the center, as well as offering tranquil spots for individual reflection and meditation

PEACE JOURNEY
This peace journey allows the visitor to surround themselves with spaces inspired by traditional Japanese architecture. These spaces are designed for one to have the opportunity to detach themselves from all the distractions while also giving the visitor spaces to connect with like minded individuals. As one progresses down the slope like water they will in each space on the journey; starting off in spaces surrounded by greenery and ending off above the rocky water of the creek
