Love

can be expressed in multiple languages, each attempting to capture a feeling that is inherently abstract.

Just as the artists in this exhibition do, emotions can be illustrated through various colors and symbols.

Love manifests in many ways and forms—self-care, curiosity about others, concern for family, and the fear of heartbreak.

The romantic narratives visualized in this exhibition invite us to recall the emotions we have experienced when faced with love.

There are only two possible outcomes: the fear of rejection or the overwhelming joy that makes the heart flutter.

In a world that constantly demands so much from us, love often serves as a reminder of the importance of taking a pause—to listen, to feel, and to touch with sincerity.

This exhibition is not merely a Valentine’s Day Celebration, which is often used as an excuse to indulge in the sensation of love,

but rather a moment to reflect on how emotions can drive us to do things beyond our imagination.

Abell Octovan

Abell Octovan has been creating art toys since 2008. His works reflect social and pop culture issues, which he then translates into unique characters. His creations have been exhibited internationally.

For this Valentine’s series, Abell presents Heartbreak Kit, a wall sculpture depicting the irony of modern love. Taking the form of a fire emergency box containing a three-dimensional heart, the artwork highlights how love can be both a source of comfort and a potential danger. The inscription, "In Case of Heartbreak, Break Glass," on the box’s glass symbolizes how easily people can feel lonely and desperate in relationships. The act of breaking the glass represents seeking a cure for loneliness, yet paradoxically, this “cure” may also lead to destruction—because love always comes with both joy and pain.

Agnes Hansella

Agnes Hansella is a Self-taught Artist with a background in sound engineering. She earned her diploma in sound design from Vancouver Film School, Canada, and later obtained her bachelor's degree in audio for cinema from the Jakarta Institute of the Arts. Since 2017, she has shifted her artistic practice to macrame and has been exploring the medium ever since.

Her work, Heart Like a Rubber Band, conveys the idea that sometimes our hearts do not fully understand what it wants. The heart can be flexible and vulnerable at the same time, just like rubber. Inspired by the flexibility of a rubber, Agnes presents a literal symbol by incorporating rubber bands into her piece, representing the unpredictability and ever-changing nature of emotions.

Crack

Crack, also known as Crackthetoy, is a Graffiti Artist recognized for his distinctive characters. Having been active in the art scene for over a decade, Crack consistently integrates elements of his personal identity into his works. His artistic journey began in middle school when he would set aside his lunch money to buy spray paint and create graffiti on the empty walls around his neighborhood. Today, Crack continues to work with art toys while remaining deeply involved in the graffiti community.

His work in this Valentine’s exhibition explores how love can drive people to go to great lengths to pursue their passion. The love depicted here extends beyond romantic relationships—it includes love for family, circumstances, and career choices, such as being an artist. Crack believes that when someone chooses to be an artist, they will do whatever it takes to stay true to their path, despite any obstacles. Titled Do for Love, the piece embodies the persistence and resilience required to chase one's passion, no matter the challenges.

Comolo

Comolo is a Graffiti Artist known for bringing his characters to life. Since childhood, he has been deeply influenced by Japanese animation, which continues to shape his artistic vision. His works reflect the diverse cultural influences he has encountered throughout his life.

For this Valentine’s exhibition, Comolo revisits the raw intensity of youthful love. He believes that teenage love is marked by overwhelming passion and excitement. His piece depicts a character eagerly pursuing their love interest. Presented as a three-panel narrative, the work tells the story of a shy teenager struggling to confess their feelings. The story concludes with rejection, leaving the character heartbroken. Though portrayed as a rebellious and tough figure, the character’s intimidating facade dissolves in the face of love—revealing a vulnerable side hidden beneath their hardened exterior.

Diva Lanzika

@divalanzika

Diva Lanzika, a Visual Communication Design graduate, creates works that stem from deep emotional exploration. Through her art, she seeks to evoke emotions in audiences and encourage self-reflection.

In this exhibition, Diva delves into the true meaning of love. Her artistic journey led her to realize that love is, at its core, a process of acceptance. This applies to all forms of love—whether romantic, familial, or self-love. Love is not always filled with joy; it can also bring moments of despair. However, even suffering is a part of love’s essence. Ultimately, love forces us to come to terms with the realities it creates, leading us to a deeper understanding of ourselves.

GULA

GULA is a Jakarta-based Visual Artist. His name, GULA (eng:Sugar), isn't inspired by the sweet carbohydrate but stands for Gusto Laboratory. He aims to bring joy through his multi-medium art practice, including murals, design, illustration, and craft.

His work for this exhibition explores Plastic Love. Plastic is a common, inexpensive, and often disposable material, serving as a metaphor for love. While plastic is frequently overlooked in daily life, it simultaneously entraps us—much like love. Yet, plastic can be recycled and remain with us indefinitely. Similarly, love, like plastic, is something worth fighting for. Just as plastic changes in form and function, love also evolves over time, adapting to different conditions and circumstances. Plastic Love symbolizes the uncertainty of love—an ever-changing entity shaped by the situation at hand.

Harishazka Fauzan

Harishazka Fauzan is an Artist Specializing in Drawing and Mixed Media. A graduate of interior architecture from the University of Indonesia, he incorporates geometric shapes, lines, and colors in his works, often drawing inspiration from everyday objects. His artistic approach integrates elements of architectural design.

His work explores the concept of time as a dynamic and subjective entity. Initially inspired by the ambiguity of time during the 2020 pandemic, he sought a visual representation of this experience. The circle became a central motif, embodying both the boundlessness and uncertainty of time—it can be perceived as having infinite angles or none at all.

Over time, his perception evolved, leading to an awareness of temporal distortion—how time feels different depending on one's surroundings and experiences. This shift is reflected in his work, where the once-perfect circle now appears distorted. The altered form serves as a metaphor for time’s fluidity, emphasizing its responsiveness to external conditions.

Driven by a passion for storytelling, Geddi is dedicated to bringing artistic visions to life, allowing audiences to fully engage with the worlds that creators imagine.

In a world where heartfelt words are often left unsaid, KLAV and Membummi offer a moment of reflection through a vintage-style telephone. This interactive installation allows visitors to pick up the phone and listen to messages of self-affirmation, gratitude, and unspoken emotions—words that should have been said sooner.

The voicemail messages, accompanied by atmospheric sound effects such as rain and city streets, are designed to evoke a sense of warmth, nostalgia, and emotional healing. Visitors are encouraged not only to listen but also to reflect on their own unsaid words, with the option to leave anonymous notes expressing sentiments they wish they had shared. By transforming a simple telephone into a medium of emotional connection, Valentine’s Voicemail Installation creates a space where people can pause, listen, and feel seen. The installation reminds us that even the smallest words of affirmation can hold profound meaning—sometimes, all it takes is picking up the phone. @_klav_ @membummi.22

Inspired by this concept, Tresna serves as the foundation for this abstract painting—mirroring love itself, which often takes an undefined and intangible form.

What sets Sentiment apart from a traditional art exhibition is how we invite participants to actively engage with both the artwork and the theme of love—not just through observation, but through deep personal reflection. With our guided journal, we provide thoughtful prompts that encourage participants to explore their emotions and perspectives in writing.

Taking this experience a step further, the Voice Journal Experience offers a unique opportunity to release these reflections through voice.
