HOW TO ORDER A BRONZE MEMORIAL
Vase Assemblies (or Memory Lights) can be added to memorials or as separate units. See pages 30-33.

All claims for defects, errors or shortage must be reported to Matthews within 5 days after delivery.
Failure to do so shall constitute acceptance and a waiver of any defects, errors or shortages.
LOST IN TRANSIT/CLAIMS:
Claims for orders lost in transit must be made within six months from ship date.
RESTOCK:
There will be a 25% restocking charge for returned crypt letters, emblems, vases and urns, providing they are in stock condition. All returns are subject to approval.
PAYMENT TERMS:
Net 30 days upon established credit.
When credit has not been established, full payment is due with order. Credit is available upon application and approval.

INSCRIPTION ON MEMORIAL BACKGROUND (NO SCROLLS)
UNI-CAST
Our uni-cast scroll is one that is cast directly on to the memorial itself. This scroll cannot be removed from the memorial. In order to furnish this type of scroll, we must have a death date since this cannot be added later. We can furnish a uni-cast scroll with either full dates or just year dates. There is no extra charge for providing this type of scroll.
If you order the uni-cast scroll style and one person is not deceased, that scroll will automatically be made loose at an additional charge.
With this type of arrangement, we can also provide a pre-need scroll without a death date or we can drill and tap the memorial to accept the scroll at the time of need. There is a charge for the pre-need scroll, but no additional charge to drill and tap.
If the pre-need scroll is ordered with the memorial, with just year dates, at the time of need the scroll can be returned to add on the year date of death at an additional charge. If the scroll has full month, day and year dates, a new scroll would have to be ordered.
If the original memorial is drilled and tapped, a new scroll can be ordered to match the uni-cast scroll. Please send us a copy of the original acknowledgement or a rubbing so we can match the original scroll.
LOOSE SCROLLS
Our loose scrolls are exactly what the name implies.They are cast separately from the memorial and are attached to the memorial with screws after it has been cast.This type of scroll style will accommodate either full dates or just year dates. Since they are cast separately and can be removed at any time, there is an additional charge for them. The price for our standard scrolls for companion memorials can be found on pages 26-29.
TRI-SCROLLS
Tri-scrolls are another type of scroll style. The given name and the birth year date are cast integrally on the memorial. The birth date is on a small plate beneath the given name. Although this plate has screws on it, it cannot be removed. Next to the birth date we provide a space for the death date. Two screws are furnished with the memorials to attach the death date. At the time of death, the date scroll is attached to the memorial with the two screws. This type of scroll will only accommodate year dates. There is an extra charge for separate birth inserts or death inserts other than the current year.

Instructions for Making a Rubbing
(For Memorials, Crypt Plates, Scrolls or Scroll D&T Locations)
• Simply place the rubbing paper on the existing memorial with the white side of the paper face up.
• For best results, tape the four corners securely to prevent slipping of the rubbing paper. If tape is not available, hold the rubbing paper firmly at one end of the memorial and rub away from point of anchor.
• Using a piece of paper folded over multiple times, or a light piece of cardboard such as the rounded top end of a pack of matches, rub the entire face and sides of the memorial or scroll. If you are rubbing a scroll, be sure to include all the sides along with the face of the scroll. Be sure to rub all areas until all the letters, emblems and border have been reproduced and are legible.
• If there are drill holes (D&T) to add on a scroll, be sure to include those on the rubbing as well. The best method to do that is to remove the screws if you can, then rub your finger over the holes to make a good imprint.
• If possible, measure the holes from center point of one hole to the center point of the other. Draw the center to center and write down the measurement.
• It is helpful to include a photograph in addition to the rubbing. You can print out and send with the rubbing or e-mail to your Customer Service Representative along with pertinent information such as the surname or original acknowledgement. (A photograph alone will not provide enough information.)
