Lawrence, KS, I have decided tackle this problem in a way that helps create intergenerational living and brings families closer.

Beginning this process, I decided to base my design decisions on my own family. This plan features an open green space and walking path that helps bring an entire community together - not just those who know already each other.

Los hogares de ancianos se han convertido en un lugar común para muchos de nuestros familiares mayores. Esto separa a las familias y reduce la interacción con los más cercanos. En un rediseño completo del norte de Lawrence, KS, he decidido resolver este problema de una manera que ayuda a crear una vida intergeneracional y reúne a las familias.

Mary, Alysson and Laura This family of three includes a mother and two daughters - an eight-year-old and a nineteen-year-old college student. To fit their needs, their home would require a bedroom room for each, place for a young girl to play, and study space. Overall, there is plenty of open space to play, study, and socialize.

Creating our first project of the year, we were as-

signed to create a non-denominational wooden chapel. We were asked to experiment with wood and its properties. From the beginning, I decided to take on the challenge of either bending wood or somehow make it look like it had a curve of sorts. After playing with paper, my original concept model created arches and I continued to add on and improve on the idea of arches and space.

Nos pidieron que experimentáramos con la madera y sus propiedades. Desde el principio, decidí asumir el reto de doblar madera o de alguna manera hacer que pareciera tener una curva. Después de jugar con el papel, mi modelo de concepto original creó arcos y continué agregando y mejorando la idea de arcos y espacio.
