OBJECTIVE To design a modern wallet that improves the current and out-dated wallet; producing high quality renders using Keyshot and Solidworks.

RESEARCH (1) The research I carried out for this project started with background research and primary & secondary research for my specific problem. (2) I then explored CMF (Colour, Material and Finish), looking at current products and inspirational images. (3) Once I had completed my ideation phase I produced a storyboard for my final product idea. (4) Finally, I created several high quality renders and explained the use and function of the product.

THE CLOUD INDUSTRIAL DESIGN MODERN BAROMETER BRIEF To design a new innovative product for manufacture (injection moulding - no side action), understanding how it would be made and how to optimise manufacture through design.

OBJECTIVE Design a product taking a modern spin on an out-dated product designing for efficient manufacturing with an achievable form and function.

PROTOLABS MANUFACTURING ANALYSIS

The details on the right side show my manufacture analysis I received back from Protolabs evaluating the practicality of the base part of my product being injection moulded.

This report confirms that my part is ready for manufacture and also provides me with information on cost and adjustments to consider.

Manufacturing Information and Considerations Cost: 50 Parts at £1.55 = £77.50 Mould Tool = (Unlimited / On- demand) £3,825.00 Total Cost = £3,902.50 Considerations: To achieve a textured finish product draft would have to increase to at least 3degrees for PM-T1 and 5degrees for PM-T2

Steel-Core Pin Hole features highlighted in ORANGE require the use of steel pins to withstand the stresses of the manufacturing process.

The following steel core pins will be used on this part: Diameter Number of Pins 3.0 mm 4

Radius Corners that will have a radius due to the milling process are colour coded as follows:

Tab Gate Your part is gated using a tab gate shown in YELLOW.

Ejector Layout Our proposed ejector layout is shown.

Ejector pins are cut square. Pins colored YELLOW will leave an indentation on your part, typically within 0.13mm (0.005 in.) of the surface.

• Use of recycled material allows for recycling and reuse at end of product life for a circular economy business model.

DIGITAL DESIGN MCLAREN COFFEE MACHINE

BRIEF To design a household coffee maker. The focus should be on demonstrating design skills through appropriate use of digital tools, form and presentation of the product.

OBJECTIVE Experiment with new digital skills in ideation, rendering and presentation to add an interesting spin on a coffee machine.

FINAL DESIGN In my final design I incorporated McLaren’s style and form to create their elegance and aggression which is exerted from there products.

BRIEF To design a pizza oven using the sheet metal feature on Solidworks that can be waterjet cut in Aston University’s workshop.

OBJECTIVE Design an interesting pizza oven with a focus on design for manufacture and general assembly drawings.

SKETCH MODELLING The photos to the left show the process of development I went through to reach my final design, my development included sketching, sketch modelling and prototyping.

Using sketch modelling; I was able to visualise my idea and test the bending techniques to ensure the form was achievable with the equipment available.
