How can tectonics in landscape architecture cultivate awareness of the immaterial that migrate into practice? Can meta-narratives uncover these immaterial influences & communicate the material actions of the landscape architect? This project interrogates the role of landscape & the landscape architect through a proposal for a Maribyrnong University Campus, a site owned by Victoria University, & the former Maribyrnong Migrant Hostel & Detention Centre. The site is a composite of many overlays & histories, as is the landscape architects who intervene with available material & immaterial knowledge, time & socio-cultural values.
