I’m so happy to introduce our Autumn/Winter 2018 collection, designed in Ravenswood, Chicago, and produced by women in Mumbai, Delhi, Udaipur, and Pondicherry, India and Kathmandu, Nepal. I want to sincerely thank you for supporting our business and helping us bring this collection to the socially conscious, stylishly adventurous women in your communities. At a time when women feel more compelled than ever to unite, fair trade is at the forefront. It’s a business model where women help each other, look out for each other, provide for each other, and empower each other up and down the supply chain. It’s a 2-way street. We often focus on how fair trade brands like ours empower women artisans, and I don’t want to diminish the impact of fair trade on the artisans and their families. I’ve seen it, it’s real. But, I want to acknowledge that the artisans empower us right back. We rely on them to make over 40,000 garments and 80,000 pieces of jewelry every year, and without their hard work we wouldn’t have this company and we wouldn’t employ 18 people here in the U.S. That’s the impact they’ve had on us. Our goal for Mata has always been to cultivate a sense of connection between the women who wear our dresses and the women who make them. It’s full-circle empowered fashion, and I am proud to be a part of an emerging movement to demand more transparency and accountability. So as you flip through this catalog, think of the role you play in this circle, the contributions of your work, and the ways you, too, are empowered by fair trade. More than anything, we want our line to be successful in your shop and welcome your questions and feedback. Let’s continue to support each other and grow this movement together.

WHOLESALE TERMS AND CONDITIONS Autumn/Winter apparel will ship July through August 2018 unless customer indicates a later ship date. All jewelry and accessories are available now except when a later delivery is specified with an asterisk on the order form. Login to www.matatraders.com for the most up-to-date delivery dates, by style. The minimum opening order per season is $600 for orders that include apparel and $250 for accessories-only orders. There is no minimum for seasonal reorders. Orders can be placed online by registering for a wholesale account at www.matatraders.com. They can also be placed via phone, fax, or email to mata@matatraders.com.
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT TERMS We will charge your credit card on the day the order ships. Orders will automatically be charged to the most recent card provided unless the customer requests preauthorization. Customers may request a courtesy notification email prior to the charge. Orders that do not receive authorization or payment details within 30 days of the first request may be cancelled. First-time customers must pay via credit card. Net 30 terms may be extended to returning customers who meet our criteria and have completed the Net 30 application process.
SHIPPING Orders will be shipped from our warehouse in Chicago, IL, USA. Domestic orders will be shipped via FedEx Ground or USPS (the lesser cost). Cost of shipping and handling will be added to the invoice at the time of shipment. International orders are shipped via DHL or USPS Priority Mail, depending on the customer’s preference. International duties will be the customer’s responsibility.
BACKORDER POLICY Backorders totaling less than $40 will be cancelled unless otherwise specified. Backorders of $40 or more will automatically be scheduled to ship when the item(s) become available. Shipping charges for backorders will not exceed 10% of the value of the backorder. If you have a specific backorder policy, please state it on your order and it will supersede our policy. International orders do not receive backorder shipments.
RETURN POLICY If you wish to return items for any reason they should be sent back in their original condition within 15 days of receipt. Please fill out our Wholesale Return Form and specify whether you would like an account credit, replacement, or exchange.
