Distance Learning for GEAR UP The extra months at home due to COVID-19 have heightened the possibility of summer slide or summer setback, beginning earlier than usual as students face a lack of motivation and frustration over the “new” way of learning. In addition to this, COVID-19 has magnified the disparities that exist in our education system. This summer, students will need equitable education opportunities that prepare them for the 2020–2021 school year and beyond. GEAR UP students are the youth that MasteryPrep bases our mission on: Every student can graduate high school with a college ready ACT or SAT score. Every student deserves to. MasteryPrep wants to help lessen the effects of the summer slide and bridge the gap that restricts students from receiving the valuable opportunities they need to score college ready. To keep your GEAR UP students engaged and motivated over the summer, here’s what MasteryPrep is offering in its ACT and SAT summer programming. This also includes one $50 gift card for each student to reward them for their dedication to their college aspirations!
9 30 hours of live, virtual instruction that can be tailored to your needs, with options as low as 20 hours or as high as 40 hours, depending on student bandwidth. 9 A live expert instructor will teach students the skills they need to help bridge the gap between the curriculum learned this year and how it will be assessed on the test. 9 Equity and access for all students: Works from any major browser on any device. A phone dialin option is also provided. 9 A set of four ACT or SAT Mastery books, one for each subject, will be mailed directly to students. 9 Online practice testing replicates ACT testing environments. 9 Detailed class and student analyses allow our team to guide instruction and share areas of growth for your students. Your team will have access to all data. 9 GEAR UP programs can set up attendance requirements. MasteryPrep can monitor attendance in classrooms via the Kaltura platform.
Upon fulfillment of requirements MasteryPrep will issue one $50 gift card per student.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you accommodate our schedule? • For each class (up to 30 hours) we can adapt the schedule to meet your needs. For example, we can provide the class 2 hours a day, 3 days a week for 5 weeks, or 1 hour a day for 6 weeks. If you need multiple classes provided simultaneously, we have you covered, or if you need longer sessions provided on the weekends, we can make that happen, too.
What if I just want the boot camp or the College Playbook program? • Stand-alone boot camps and College Playbook workshop series are available with slightly minimum attendance requirements.
