2021 President’s Lunch

The 2021 President’s lunch switch got turned back on this year after an unpredictable 2020 saw the cancellation of last year’s lunch - and it went off with a bang.

Over 400 guests were eager to catch up and network with industry friends and colleagues and the entertainment factor again proved equally successful.

More on the event is detailed later in the magazine, however I would like to focus on the support that we received from our dedicated sponsors.

I would like to personally thank the following organisations for sponsorship in no particular order: CIVILMART, Australian Gas Networks, Caroma, MEGT, Rheem, CITB, Lynch Meyer Lawyers, Toyota, CBUS, St. Patricks Technical College, Tradelink, Portable Long Service Leave, Acura, PEER, Milwaukee, and SimPRO.

I would like to also thank our speakers for the day: David Hurst - President of the Master Plumbers Association of SA, the Honourable David Pisoni – Minister for Innovation and Skills, Craig de Laine – the recently appointed CEO of Australian Gas Infrastructure Group, Troy Gray our MC and our entertainers Steven Bradbury and Bruno Lucia.

Congratulations to all of our Apprentice Award winners and to our Membership Milestone recipients.

A big congratulations to AJ Paternoster for reaching the 100 Year membership milestone - an incredible achievement.

Our industry relies heavily on great support, up and coming stars and the longevity of industry members. Thank you.

I would also like to pass on my sincere condolences to the Sika family for the loss of Tom who was an extremely passionate and dedicated member of the plumbing / gas family.

Tom headed up the Gas Regulatory role in South Australia for the Office of Technical Regulator and was an incredible man. He worked tirelessly in his role and was a teacher and mentor to those in the industry.

More has been mentioned in this edition, but I know the gas industry won’t be the same without him.
