What Are The Manufacturing Processes Of Concrete Blocks?

Cement bricks or concrete blocks are building materials that are used to build walls in a building. It is also known as a CMU concrete masonry unit. Concrete blocks are one of the most important concrete products used for construction. Concrete blocks are formed and hardened before they reach the construction site.

Concrete is the most prominent raw material used for making concrete blocks and Concrete Manufacturers NZ are best at making it.

They are made with powdered cement, sand, gravel, and water. The mixture of all the materials produces a light gray colored brick with good surface texture.

The manufacturing process of concrete blocks consists of four steps and some concrete production suppliers manufacture them.

Here are 4 stages about Concrete Manufacturers NZ that will help you understand how they manufacture concrete blocks that are solid, perfect, and ready to use.

1) Mixing:

Gravel and sand and cement are mixed well by mechanical machines which means all these three components of bock are poured in a stationary mixer and are blended for a few minutes. After these materials are mixed well a small amount of water is added to the mixture and color pigments are also added at the same time. After this, the main content of concrete is included in the mixture.

2) Molding:

After the first stage, the mixture of concrete blocks is poured into the molds and compacted by the weight of the upper molds. The compaction is assisted by the hydraulic pressure cylinders to act as a molded head.

The compacted concrete blocks are pulled out of the mold into the conveyor and pass-through rotating brush to remove any extra material.

3) Curing:

After the 2nd stage, Concrete Manufacturers NZ will run the process curing cycle which takes place about 24 hours, and the process of sending molded blocks to a steam kiln for solidification production.

Once a set temperature reaches the steam is shut off and blocks are soaked in moist air.

4) Cubing:

After all, three stages, the concrete blocks are passed through cube alignment and stacked into various sizes and cubes. When all this is done, the concrete blocks are sent to the storage area ready to use.
