This session explores how living with a mental illness is a treatable journey. Our presenter has experienced 3 behavioral health stays in 10 years, hitting rock bottom numerous times. She questioned her self-worth, had achieved so much professionally but personally felt numb, and she never thought she could escape her own unhealthy thoughts. Then she surrendered, realizing that her best life possible was achievable through acceptance, awareness, and ultimately advocacy for herself and others. She has shared her story on hundreds of stages to thousands of people in an effort to spread a message of hope, healing, and self-love. Hear the story, participate in a great workshop, and walk away owning your best life possible like never before!

Lyndsey (Medders) Fennelly is former Iowa State women’s basketball All-American and WNBA draftee of the Indiana Fever in 2007. She has been a successful business owner and entrepreneur as well as volunteer contributor in Ames, IA. Lyndsey has been a loud advocate since 2018 as a public speaker on mental health, visiting with over 130 engagements and reaching over 20,000 individuals in sharing her journey, hoping to create awareness while reducing the shame and stigma. She is a Mom to Will (11) and Callie (7) and married to Iowa State assistant basketball coach, Billy Fennelly.
