Our Microsoft PowerPoint Basics training, hosted by Zentek Consultants virtually via the Zoom platform, provides members with a solid foundation to create professional presentations efficiently and effectively. Zentek Consultants bring their expertise from the construction industry to help you leverage PowerPoint to its full potential.

David Mills, ZenTek Consultants - Hackensack, NJ

David Mills has been working within the construction industry for nearly a decade. He has developed commercial and healthcare projects ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000+, while working in various positions, including Estimator, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, and Assistant Project Manager. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was an Owner’s Representative on a large healthcare campus in Michigan. This project had several Construction Managers on it using different software products, which Mr. Mills successfully taught team members to use efficiently.

Mr. Mills joined ZenTek Consultants as a Technology Specialist in early 2023. During his time at ZenTek, he has developed custom solutions and training for clients, as well as written numerous articles and blogs on using Bluebeam and Procore efficiently. His knowledge of software does not end at Bluebeam and Procore, as he is proficient in Microsoft Office, Revit, PlanSwift, PlanGrid, Smartsheet, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

In this session, you will gain a solid understanding of what PowerPoint is and how it integrates into the Microsoft Office suite. Learn how to start a presentation using PowerPoint templates, navigate the various slide views, and use layouts, grids, and rulers to organize your content. You’ll also discover how to format backgrounds to match your style and how to control basic slide show functions for a seamless presentation experience.

WORKING WITH TEXT & TABLES

June 4, 2025 | 9:00am – 11:00am

Master Builder Designation: Project Management - 2 credits

In this session, you will learn how to edit title and content boxes to structure your slides effectively and maintain a clean layout. You’ll also discover how to insert and modify text boxes to add more flexibility and precision to your slides. Additionally, you’ll explore how to use WordArt to create visually striking text effects that capture attention. We’ll cover how to create and format tables to present data in a clear, professional way, and how to use SmartArt to visually represent complex ideas or processes, making them easier for your audience to understand

CREATING GRAPHICS

Master Builder Designation: Project Management - 2 credits

In this session, you will learn how to insert and format pictures, screenshots, and photo albums to enhance your slides visually. You’ll also discover how to work with shapes and icons, and how to create and edit charts to effectively showcase data. Additionally, you will explore how to format graphic objects for proper alignment and size to maintain design consistency across your slides, and how to adjust the display order and group graphics for a polished, professional look.

TRANSITIONS & ANIMATIONS

June 18, 2025 | 9:00am - 11:00am

Master Builder Designation: Project Management - 2 credits

In this session, you will learn how to enhance your presentation by adding slide transitions, including how to customize effects, duration, and sounds to create a dynamic flow. You’ll also explore how to add animations to objects to emphasize key points and capture your audience’s attention. Additionally, you will discover how to manage animation timing, control effects and triggers, and sequence animations for a smooth and engaging presentation.
