Qualifications

The Board is seeking a Treasurer who is willing and has the ability to lead the Massillon City School District in a financially responsible manner. The Board prefers a Treasurer who has a record of working as part of a team with the Board., Superintendent and other school administrators.

Candidates shall possess or demonstrate the following:

Understanding of public school finance, budgets, appropriations and payroll.

Ability to work with the Board, employees, students parents and community.

Valid Ohio Treasurer's license.

Successful experience as school treasurer preferred. Knowledge of computers and ability to use financial software.

Experience in financial forecasting.

Knowledge of local tax structures.

Experience in budget development.

Knowledge of asset tracking.

Knowledge of all state and local reporting requirements.

Terms of Employment

Board to offer an initial employment contract in accordance with Ohio statutes. Future multi-year contracts will be provided pursuant to Ohio Revised Code. Salary and fringe benefits are negotiable and will be commensurate with qualifications of candidate selected.

The Massillon City School District serves a community of approximately 32,180 people. Massillon is located in Northeast Ohio and is about 20 miles south of Akron.

Families can enjoy a variety of cultural and recreational events and activities, such s the Towpath, a Community Recreation Center or one of many public parks and recreation areas. Golf enthusiast can relax and play at The Legends of Massillon public golf course. The Massillon Museum is also a great place to enjoy art and learn history.
