Mas Maya was inspired by a coating we found when we were on holiday in Mexico. We were attracted to its beautiful natural aesthetic, versatility and durability The Mexican plaster has been used there for over 2000 years by the Mayan people and was a rare fusion of beauty and durability
On our return home to Spain and, with the help of a Mexican expert, we created a unique formula using local materials sourced in Europe. We like to refer to it as a contemporary European revision of an ancient Mayan legacy.

The main ingredient in Mas Maya plaster is limestone - with a small amount of white cement that acts as a binder. It also has a number of plant extracts that offer unique functionalities;
flexibility to prevent it cracking strong adhesion so it can be used on a multitude of surfaces water resistance so it can be used for bathrooms, swimming pools and other areas in contact with water
prolonged working time during installation which makes it easy to work with

Due to its incredible adhesion, Mas Maya offers exceptional versatility and it is an affordable and time efficient material for renovations.
It can be installed directly over tiles, wood, brick, furniture and existing plaster and due to its natural water resistance, it is also suited to bathrooms, swimming pools and other areas in contact with water.

Mas Maya is an elegant, warm aesthetic that evokes you both physically and mentally; it calms the nervous system whilst awakening the senses
Due to its distinct elegance, we don't recommend painting over Mas Maya plaster. We have a selection of colours from which to choose.
Mas Maya can be installed to create a range of aesthetics and textural finishes The aesthetic can be flat and consistent (like a painted wall) or more organic and cloudy (“alive” and reflective of nature).

Mas Maya is a natural architectural coating suitable for interior and exterior spaces, including those in contact with water. It is a beautiful aesthetic that offers a unique sense of calm and relaxation.
With added plant extracts that gives excellent water-resistance, Mas Maya works well in bathrooms, kitchens, floors, exterior surfaces and swimming pools.
Due to its natural lime-based composition, Mas Maya is a healthy, breathable material, free of toxins and VCOs. It absorbs and releases moisture, maintaining comfortable humidity levels. It's highly suitable for homes with damp and mould issues and spaces susceptible to salt and fungus. It is also a healthier alternative to more traditional plasters, to those with asthma and allergies.
Please note, we always recommend applying two coats of Mas Maya for a smoother finish and greater durability.

Nota: recomendamos siempre aplicar dos capas de Mas Maya para un acabado más suave y mayor durabilidad.
