INTRODUCTION Welcome to the miniature prototype of our book,
“Fun with Mascots and Maps”. • We are searching for a publishing company to produce and distribute our fun and educational work. • We created 12 fictitious colleges within 4 imaginary states. • (Ozark, Pine, Little Egypt, and Kudzu). • This liberated us to produce a prototype that is free from copyright issues. • Below is the working title for our actual book. • “Fun with Mascots and Maps: Learning History, Geography, and Map Skills with the Stories behind NCAA Power 5 College Nicknames/Mascots”. • This book will teach and reinforce history, geography, and map skills by learning historical, geographical, and cultural facts about each college’s team nickname/mascot. • In the actual book, we want to present facts about colleges in the following athletic conferences. The Gigantic Athletic Conference (GAC) is an American college athletic association. Created in 1912, it is the second oldest Division-1 conference in the nation. The league footprint spans from Dallas in the West to Nashville in the East and Evansville to the North with New Orleans to the South.
