A Word from the Founder Mr. Tayseer Zamel

As we embark on another exciting academic year, I am filled with pride and optimism for the journey ahead. Over the years, our school has become a vibrant community where curiosity, creativity, and resilience flourish. We continue to nurture learners who are not only academically skilled but also compassionate, responsible, and ready to positively impact the world around them.

Our dedicated staff, engaged parents, and motivated students form the foundation of a learning community grounded in trust, mutual respect, and shared goals.

Together, let us embrace each opportunity for growth, celebrate our achievements, and face challenges with confidence and courage.

I eagerly look forward to witnessing the incredible progress and success that this forthcoming year will bring.

Outstanding Achievers

Having been a part of this school community since Kindergarten, my journey has been one of steady growth and determination. I am proud to have achieved a perfect score of 100 in the Tawjihi equivalency and to have challenged myself by taking 12 Advanced Placement (AP) courses throughout high school. These academic accomplishments, combined with my leadership roles as Student Body President, MAS MUN Secretary-General, and Founder of the Economics Club, have helped shape my character and prepared me for the future. Receiving a full scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business—an Ivy League university renowned worldwide for its academic excellence—is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the hard work and support I have received along the way. As I look back on my years here, I am grateful for the opportunities, friendships, and experiences that have defined my path and excited to embrace the challenges ahead.

Throughout my years at MAS, I have committed myself to both academic excellence and meaningful extracurricular involvement. Over the past four years, I excelled in 10 AP courses and proudly achieved a 100% equivalency score, preparing me to pursue medicine in Jordan. Beyond academics, I actively contributed to the school by participating in events like the Annual Ramadan Iftar for four consecutive years, joining the Book and Chess Clubs, and being a member of the National Honor Society. Additionally, I served as the Head of Journalism and IT for MASMUN ’25, which helped me develop leadership skills and contribute to one of our school’s most important events. I am deeply grateful to MAS for providing me with these invaluable experiences that have shaped my growth and prepared me for the next chapter of my life.

Ebtisam Karbatak

Throughout my high school years, I dedicated myself to academic excellence and a wide range of extracurricular activities. I completed 10 AP courses across sciences, math, and social sciences, preparing for a future career in medicine. I founded the Chess Club, led Journalism and Media in MUN, and actively participated in the Ramadan Iftar, Book Club, Journalism Club, and Film Club. As a threeyear member of the National Honor Society, I balanced academics, leadership, and community service, which helped me earn presidential scholarships at Boston University, George Washington University, American University, University of San Francisco, Rutgers, and Hofstra. These experiences have shaped my growth and prepared me to embrace the opportunities ahead.

Kareem Al Kuri
Rand Al Jobouri

As a proud Kuwaiti, moving to Jordan to attend Modern American School (MAS) was a wise decision that challenged and supported me. Over the past two years, I earned a place in the National Honor Society and consistently ranked among the top students. I embraced leadership roles, representing the Arabic community in Model United Nations and speaking at school events in my native language. Beyond academics, I built lasting friendships that enriched my experience. I am excited to pursue my dream of medicine with acceptances from prestigious programs including King’s College London, University of Central Lancashire, Western Sydney University, and the University of Auckland. This is just the beginning.

Basil Kalbouneh

If someone had told me a year ago that I’d finish high school in Jordan, I wouldn’t have believed them. Leaving the UAE in my senior year was a big shift, but joining the Modern American School turned out to be the best decision I have made. The supportive community helped me adapt quickly, and I soon found myself not only fitting in but thriving. In just one year, I became one of the top ten students academically, earned membership in the National Honor Society, actively contributed to the Community Service Program—especially by helping organize the Ramadan Iftar—and participated in the Model United Nations, which strengthened my communication and global awareness. MAS challenged me to grow, both academically and personally, and gave me a true sense of belonging in such a short time.

Looking back on my three incredible years at the Modern American School, I’m filled with both gratitude and pride. From maintaining honor roll status and a GPA above 4.0 to serving for three years in the National Honor Society, I’ve poured my heart into every opportunity that came my way. As Head of Staff and Security for our Model United Nations and a member of the Ramadan Iftar organizing team, I’ve grown tremendously as both a leader and a team player. Tackling rigorous AP courses was never easy, but the challenge pushed me further than I ever imagined—and made getting accepted into my dream university even more meaningful. I was thrilled to receive offers from several amazing institutions including the University of Tampa and Florida State University, but I ultimately committed to the University of Central Florida to pursue my passion for health science.

As we close another remarkable school year, I reflect with pride on the growth, resilience, and transformation we have witnessed in each of our students. This year brought challenges, but it also opened doors to exciting new opportunities—opportunities that you embraced with determination and heart.

Senior Walk

Ebtisam Karabatak

My advice to upcoming seniors is to start early on college applications, but not to overwhelm yourself with too many difficult classes or AP’s. Make the most of this final year— it’s a special one.

Habebah Batardouk

My advice to juniors, as a senior, is not to use the fact that it’s your last year as an excuse to neglect your work. Your grades still matter, and many students don’t realize that slacking off canaffect their chances of getting into certain colleges—especially those with conditional acceptances.

Tamer Hammad

My advice to the Class of 2026 is to cherish these final moments of familiarity and to value the journey with close friends because it goes by in a flash.

Continue working hard; it’s your final year of high school!

Kamel

Jallad

Senior year is a big deal, so make the most of it. Stay focused on your goals, keep your grades strong, and start thinking about your future early whether that’s college, a job, or something else. Balance your responsibilities with fun, and don’t forget to enjoy the memories you’re making along the way.

Yousif Al Jubouri

The best advice for juniors heading into senior year is to start early and stay organized. Work on your college applications, scholarships, and major projects ahead of time, so you’re not overwhelmed later. Keep your grades up, stay involved, and don’t let senioritis take over. Most importantly, enjoy the moments—senior year only happens once.

Alasool Al Muqeemi

My best advice for seniors is to stay focused and avoid leaving things until the last minute. Enjoy your final year, but keep your goals in sight. Ask questions, manage your time wisely, and support one another—it truly makes a difference!

Rand Al Jubouri

My advice for juniors coming to senior year is to make sure you live the year to the fullest and make memories with friends. Don’t overwhelm yourself by taking too many AP’s and don’t overwork yourself.

Dalya Al Jubouri

Always stay confident in your studies. Mistakes are part of the learning process, so don’t let them discourage you; just keep trying. Stick to the study habits that work for you, and remember to make time for yourself outside of school. Maintaining balance is just as important as staying focused.

Mohammed Al Jouani

Welcome to senior year—where sleep is a myth, deadlines appear out of nowhere, and ‘I’ll do it later’ becomes your personal motto. But seriously, stay on top of things early because by second semester, you’ll be running on caffeine and vibes. Embrace the chaos, take too many pho- tos, and just maybe—start your college apps before the night they’re due.

Lamis Al Terhi

Work hard now so that you can rest later. When you push yourself to work hard it will be so worth it in the end, and you will thank yourself for put- ting in all that work. Also, enjoy every moment of high school. It will pass by so fast, and it will end so quickly, so do not take any class, any moment with your friends for granted. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Lilian Bejah

As someone who tends to procrastinate, I’ve learned that the sooner I start something, the sooner my mind can relax. Most of the time, the task itself isn’t difficult—it’s the mental burden of avoiding it that wears you down. If I could offer one piece of advice to juniors, it would be this: act in the moment. Don’t wait for the pressure to build. Starting early clears your mind and makes everything feel more manageable.
