According to the Jordanian Ministry of Education, the following principles apply for the equivalence of the International Baccalaureate (IB) certificate: First: The student must complete twelve years of formal education, with the last three years in approved educational programs, based on the provisions of Article (31/A) of the Education Law No. (3) of 1994. Second: Jordanian school graduates must pass all subjects in the eleventh and twelfth grades, specifically Arabic Language and Islamic Education (for Muslim students) and Jordanian History, according to the approved Jordanian curriculum, in addition to subjects from the IB curriculum. Third: 1.Achieve passing grades in at least six IB subjects. 2.Pass at least two of the six subjects in high level. 3.None of these subjects can be duplicated. 4.Pass in on one Mathematics and one Science subject from the six subjects, either at the standard or higher level. 5.Arabic Language (A or B) must be one of the six subjects for Arab students at either level.

Fourth: The passing points in the higher level range from (3 – 7) and in the standard level from (2 – 7). If a student takes an additional subject at the higher level, it will be counted at the standard level with the same points. Fifth: The IB diploma is equated to the Jordanian secondary school certificate in the scientific branch under the following conditions: A. The student must pass three scientific subjects, one of which must be Mathematics, with at least two at the higher level, plus Arabic Language, a foreign language, and an elective subject. B. Achieve a total of (21) points out of (42) points.
