The plan?s activities will help Dr. Robbins establish a strong community presence early in his superintendency and efficiently assess the Marysville School District?s strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. This plan will allow Dr. Robbins to address district needs while honoring past work. This plan will create a community network of contacts and resources to help the Marysville School District be an optimal, sought after, revered, and emulated school district for children. Dr.. Create opportunities for me to listen broadly and deeply to various constituents to understand all critical aspects of the Marysville School District and increase community engagement. The superintendent is responsible for achieving big picture goals for a school district that lead to all students?academic growth and socio emotional wellness. The superintendency is a role defined by service to a city and the schools that serve the city?s children. This role provides essential leadership to educate every child, obtain and develop high quality staff, secure and manage funds and facilities, and encourage and maintain communication between the schools and the public. The purpose of this entry plan is to provide a structure to support Dr. Zachary Scott Robbins?transition as superintendent of the Marysville School District as he listens to students, staff, families, and the greater Marysville and Tulalip community to:

Dr Robbins?will spend at least one half day in each school before winter break in December The principal and staff will collaborate to create Dr Robbins?schedule for his visit to allow Dr Robbins to experience their school as a learner and to provide the opportunity to visit every classroom to get to know staff and students Before students dismiss for winter break in December 2022, Dr Robbins will have spent considerable time in every school
Operating from the belief that what students, teachers, and staff do in schools and classrooms is essential to effective learning in a district, the superintendent has visited every school in Marysville. He looks forward to continuing his visits and learning more about each unique school community.
Structure

The superintendent will engage in purposeful efforts to listen to the community and learn about the Marysville School District. The following activities will be core components of the entry plan: - School visits and meetings with school staff. - Meetings, interviews, and Listening Posts - Cultivation of a working relationship with the district?s labor associations and their leaders. - Cultivation of relationships with a diversity of district families, business, and community leaders. - Cultivation of a working relationship with the Marysville School Board of Directors - Data analysis and document review. On the first day of school, the superintendent will invite a diverse group of community leaders and elected officials to join him and the Marysville School District Leadership Team in welcoming students at several schools

The superintendent, working with the Central Administrative Team and Leadership Team, will analyze performance indicators and examine a wide variety of data sources, particularly student achievement data, to discern trends, patterns, areas of accomplishment, and opportunities for improvement Student outcomes on standardized tests, school-based formative assessments, dropout and graduation rates, staff and student attendance rates, truancy and discipline data, Advanced Placement (AP) and dual-credit course enrollment and passing rates, SAT and ACTscores, college-bound rates, and other relevant indicators will be disaggregated by program, ethnicity, and geography, and carefully studied.
Dr. Robbins will share his passion for restorative practices by encouraging students, staff, parents, and community members to join him in community building circles on Thursdays from September 15, 2022 through October 13, 2022. Circle participants will have an opportunity to visit afterward with the superintendent. The superintendent will also convene ?Listening Posts?for interested community members to have ?Snacks with Zac.?The Listening Posts will provide opportunities for parents, community members, students, staff, and others who have not been part of Dr Robbins?pre entry interviews to share their perspectives about the Marysville School District with the superintendent. In addition, the district will reassess community perceptions and priorities in the Fall of 2022 by conducting a Customer Awareness and Satisfaction Survey

This Plan of Entry will afford Superintendent Robbins the opportunity to listen, observe and learn from a variety of community members while gaining an understanding of the local context of the city and the school system. The entry plan will serve to help the superintendent begin to formulate ideas and frame strategies to improve our school system so that we increase student achievement for all students while simultaneously closing achievement gaps and ensuring success for every child. The entry plan culminates with the development and presentation of a Summary Report in 2023, outlining the superintendent?s findings, observations, and next steps.
