Color Palette
These are the colors of Echo Magazine they can be used in any portion of the magazine including illustrations, headlines etc.

These three colors are featured color bar for the Rewind, Fast Forward, and Features sections of the magazine, as well as the color coordinated headline, subhead, and other various type choices for these sections.

Punctuation, Capitalization & Other Style Choices Addresses • States use will be written out in AP style, abbreviate the state when listing a specific city followed by the state. • Street names will be written out in AP style, abbreviate when using the exact address (example: St. Ave. Blvd.) • With websites addresses, the entire link is spelled out (www.comicartguild.org).
Dates • Dates will be written out in AP style, like: March 17, 2011 instead of March 17th.
Numbers • Numbers will follow basic AP style, written out one through nine and numerical format for numbers after 10 (example: one, two, three, ... 11, 12, 13) • Phone numbers will be written out using periods, not dashes (example: 555.444.3333). • Dollar amounts will be written out in AP style using the dollar sign, (example: $56)

Quotes & Italics • Novels and newspapers are italicized (example: Pride and Prejudice, New York Times). • Song titles are in quotes (example: “Born to be Wild”). • Films will be italicized (example: Monty Python vs. “Monty Python”). • Some inconsistencies with when to use quotes vs. italics, may just be an emphasis choice.
Capitalization & Other Styles • All words in titles are must be capitalized including “the” and “is”. • With cooking directions, the word “degrees” is written out. • The word “percent” will be written in AP style within articles, and represented by the symbol % in graphics.

Margins, Columns and Spacing
Spacing The space between the headline and sub headlines should be .1464”.
The space between the subhead and the byline, and the byline and the text boxes should be .23”.

Photography
Photos are permitted to bleed over the top, bottom, left side of the spread.

However, photos on the right hand side of the spread may never over lap the color bar, nor can the be framed in any type of outline/border.
