Where baseballs a deadly game CANONSBURG in Pennsylvania has two claims to fame. It is the birthplace of singer Perry Como... and it kills people.

A refining plant in the town was used for refining uranium for the Manhattan Project, the secret wartime development of the atomic bomb, in the Forties.

But what happened to the low-level radioactive waste from the refinery? It was buried in a pond, grassed over, and became the frightening foundations of a baseball diamond used by the unsuspecting kids of Canonsburg.

Dana's words and music SOME PEOPLE pack all kinds of everything into a life. Irish singer, Dana, one of the friends of Mary O'Hara and Friends, on ITV on Sunday, has decided to put it all down on paper.

In November, Hodder and Stoughton is publishing Dana — An Autobiography, the story of her eventful life since winning the Eurovision Song Contest as an 18year-old schoolgirl who only wanted to get on with her exams. She will be releasing an album on the Ritz label at the same time as the book reaches the shops.

So why was she chosen? They believe,' she says modestly, that it * aood for the product to have a European girl in vision.'

Words speak volumes for singer-author Dana,

Dana, 33, has disappeared to Dorset and a Bournemouth summer season alongside Russ Abbot. She has taken with her the children, Grace, four, Ruth, two, and 10-month-old John James. Perhaps the title of her most recent single record, Little Things Mean a Lot, is also autobiographical.

Filling the Ftayd YOUNG VIEWERS of the last series of Video and Chips will be glad to hear news of Floyd the Droid, the simple robot who looked like a dustbin on wheels.

'He's alive and well and living in Esher in Surrey with me,' says the programme's resident boffin Mike Sharp. 'In the new series, presented by Mick Brown, which starts on ITV on Wednesday afternoon, we are going to show some very simple add-ons for Floyd.

Especially we are going to look at things to do with his gripper, his arm.

There will be data sheets available for those who want to get on with their own robot.1 Among the other ideas explored in this series for do-it-yourselfers: burglar alarms.
