Michael Heath

Michael Heath passed on March 23, 2023 at Shock Trauma Center from injuries sustained in an accident at his home farm, Spring Valley Farm, in Westminster, MD. We are saddened by the passing of our fellow Maryland dairyman. Michael Heath was known far and wide for his impact in the Jersey, Holstein and dairy industries. He had a special talent for picking out heifers from the pasture or cows in the barn and knowing they could shine in the showring. Michael was described by his peers as a “walking encyclopedia of cows and pedigrees”, he could tell you the pedigree for a Jersey’s granddam that was 4th place at Louisville from 8 years ago. Rarely did he forget a cow he had seen.

You could find Michael doing the grunt work in the barn, as a leadsman at the halter of some of the best bovines, or in a tuxedo placing classes at some of the most renowned shows in the world. He filled many roles in the industry and will leave a lasting impression for years to come. We’ll remember him at his happiest, on the halter of a good Jersey cow.

At this time we express our condolences to the entire Heath and Stiles Families; especially Billy, Betty, Susie, Wayne and Allen.
