JAY FIELDING THE new year has lots in store for Maryborough. People receiving some government support payments will see a six per cent indexation raise from January 1.
Youth Allowance payments will increase between $22.40 and $45.60 a fortnight, and Austudy will increase between $36.20 and $45.60 a fortnight. The carer allowance will increase to $153.50 a fortnight.
Also on January 1, the importation of disposable vape devices will be banned. At the same time, a Special Access Scheme pathway will begin, allowing medical practitioners and nurse practitioners to prescribe when
clinically appropriate.
