, L A L C LO OCA E L V LI UY B THE MARYBOROUGH community is firmly in our focus at The Maryborough Sun which launched this week to continue the long tradition of print media in regional Queensland. The Sun Team are all familiar media and print faces, boasting combined newspaper experience of over 200 years, most of that right here on the Fraser Coast.

Whether it be local news and events or a broader focus on issues that affect this region, you’ll find it here each fortnight.

and a large percentage of our population still enjoys regularly sitting down with a cuppa and a traditional newspaper.

Despite the recent closures of many corporate publications, the need for a local regional newspaper has never diminished. Many of the axed papers had been providing a voice for their communities as far back as the late 1800s,

For advertisers, the benefits of a regular printed paper are that they can still reach that demographic that resists modern media and computers, whilst staying in touch with their customers on a more personal level.

If you have a story or a lead for us, please email them through to editorial@ marysun.com.au and be sure to include your name, email address and phone number so we can contact you if needed. We’d love to hear about what’s happening around Maryborough. We’ll be publishing classifieds - including the Trades & Services section - as well as

regular local competitions, guides and much more. And for your friends who live outside Maryborough, they’ll have access to our FREE online edition which they can print, email, share and link to as much as they like. We’re looking forward to working together with you all and building a great newspaper for everyone!
