THE IMMENSE POWER OF WORDS Simply put, we are constantly shaping our daily lives through all the thought, spoken and written words we choose at both conscious and subconscious levels. Whatever we think, say or write, enables us to exchange with others, identify reality as we know it, love, thrive and why not, even experience the drama that often times we are willing to include in our lives. When we give them enough power through our purest intent, words can allow us to transform our lives and manifest new realities still impossible to fathom for the many. As spiritual healers and teachers, Roxana and Arnaud, have witnessed through countless examples not only in their own personal lives but also in that of thousands of people they have helped, that the Word is a very powerful tool for Change. There are hundreds of ancient texts originated in the most influential traditions, religions, and cultures of the world, where the vibrational energy used to create words is explained to those who are ready to manage such wisdom. One popular example is the one included in Genesis 1:3 where God is depicted creating the light by saying… words! In other ‘words’, it is more than clear that the way to create worlds is through words…Yes, with the right intent, through words, we can all do miracles and heal whatever belief is afflicting and preventing us from discovering the divine being we all are at our deepest core. HealThruWords.com In 2012, Roxana Jones, best selling and award winning inspirational author, was entrusted by her guides with a unique healing and empowering method. HealThruWords was born. sages she receives as energy transmissions from her spiritual guides. Their wording is what enables Roxana to transmit through them her own energy signature and the Encoded Healing™ entrusted to her. This technique acts as a powerful tool for healing and transformation to those interested in opening their minds and as a consequence, their hearts. “It’s time…” “It’s time to believe different, believe that all things are possible and use all the tools available to help in the creation of a new, more expanded and complete version of ourselves,” says Arnaud. What daily vitamins, minerals and other nutrients do for your physical body, HealThruWords® Inspirational Quotes do for your spiritual and emotional bodies,” says Roxana. Reading, thinking, reflecting and ideally speaking out loud HealThruWords® quotes on a regular basis, can enable anyone to benefit from the powerful invisible light active and present beyond their words. Through the HealThruWords platform, this thriving and fast-growing community has access to: affordable subscription based services offering you the possibility of bringing change to your life by dedicating as little as 5 minutes per day; online transformational courses with a longer duration and in association with other renowned spiritual teachers; and LA based exclusive weekend workshops offered by Roxana and Arnaud focusing on the awakening of the divine feminine for single women, and the rebalancing of polarities for couples. HealThruWords.org In an effort to offer their help to weaker sections of society, Arnaud and Roxana are also working in the expansion of their non-profit organization promoting self-love through the relation between
mothers and their daughters by means of the financing of educational programs for low-income single moms. A 10% of the revenue generated by all of their subscription based services, online courses, exclusive healing techniques and VIP workshops goes to the financing of HealThruWords Foundation programs. This initiative began after studying and personally experiencing the impact that limiting beliefs had at the mental level and how these could be the cause of lack of love and unhappiness in the world. Millions of mothers are currently raising children unaware of the effects their own beliefs of unworthiness and disempowerment are having in their daughters’ minds and hearts. For good or for worse, they are literally shaping their daughters’ futures. A great part of humanity’s problems come from the fact that mothers who are raising the next generation of mothers, are unfulfilled, unhappy, and ignorant of the power their negative minds are having in the young girls who so urgently need to start helping in the construction of a better world. Arnaud and Roxana consider that the problem is not only about lack of self-esteem as it goes deeper than the physical body and the reality human eyes can see. “It is in the mind and the soul where mothers need to heal their wounds,” says Arnaud. “It is in these more profound levels where self-love begins to germinate and expand. And it is this kind of love that can enable young girls to believe in their capacity to fulfill their wildest dreams and be a positive influence in their world,” concludes Roxana. Roxana Jones and Arnaud Saint-Paul devote themselves to their life purpose: To open as many hearts as possible and to help shifting the consciousness of the planet. As spiritual healers and teachers, life and business partners, their intent is to “help millions around the world to embrace change and start living the type of love, happiness and abundance both of them now know exists for everyone once they are healed.” Together, they work enthusiastically in bringing to their audience the best of themselves so that everyone can connect to their own Truth and unveil who they truly are: divine beings enlightening the world in their own unique ways, even when darkness makes it hard to believe it is so.

Putting our Daydreams to work for us! By Sherri Cortland ND & Debbie Ihburg-Smith

art by yoguy108
Have you ever caught yourself daydreaming and thought you were wasting time? We both have. But a little research has proven to us that daydreaming is actually beneficial way for us to spend a little time each day. The technical definition of daydreaming according to Wikipedia is “a short-term detachment from one’s immediate surroundings, during which a person’s contact with reality is blurred and partially substituted by a visionary fantasy, especially one of happy, pleasant thoughts, hopes or ambitions, imagined as coming to pass, and experienced while awake.”
•In an article by Rebecca Turner ( http://www. world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/ ) I found that contrary to popular belief, daydreaming is now an important part of dream research: “As with all types of dreams, you enter a kind of hypnotic trance and allow your unconscious thoughts to rise to the surface.” Daydreams are no different! Rebecca shares that scientific studies have revealed that most of us daydream between 70 & 120 minutes per day. While daydreaming, you are neither fully awake nor asleep. This made me start to daydream about what is the difference between daydreaming and meditating and I’ll address in just a moment.
From the research Debbie did about daydreaming, it seems like in the past it was disregarded as part of traditional dream study programs because it was initially felt that daydreaming was nothing more than wandering thoughts. But clearly the scientific community •As far as Freudian psychology is concerned, is changing their attitude and many now bedaydreaming is similar to night dreams in lieve that the content of one’s daydreams that repressed feelings and instincts may are useful in helping to understanding surface in both because we’re in a relaxed one’s true feelings and goals. state and not censoring what we think about. When it comes to the symbology of day•In the late 1960s, psychologists at the City dreams, many say that this is the same as College of New York created a daydream our night dreams. So if you find your dayquestionnaire, called the Imaginal Process- dreaming about flying or dreaming at night es Inventory (IPI), to investigate daydreams. about flying, both would have the same mesPsychologists Leonard Giambra and George sage for you. No wonder human beings love to daydream—it’s like a mini-vacation! And daydreaming is important enough for many psychiatrists and psychologists to have studied them; here are some of their findings:
Huba used the IPI and found that daydreamers’ imaginary images vary in three ways: how vivid or enjoyable the daydreams are, how many guilt- or fear-filled daydreams they have, and how “deeply” into the daydream people go.
•There are many types of daydreams, and
there is no consistent definition among psychologists, and the only common denominator when it comes to daydreams is that there is always some sort of dissociation from what’s happening around the daydreamer.
16 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
Some say we can use our daydreams to produce positive outcomes. We all know that the universe gives us what we focus on, so instead of worrying, we can repeat positive images and outcomes in our mind: This will let the universe know that we don’t want to be worried all the time, and that what we really want is a happy ending. To prove this point, Tiger Woods has said that he has used daydreams to improve his golf game. If Tiger can do it, so can we—for all kinds of things… even when studying for a test or preparing for a job interview.
“A daydream is that fountain spurting, spilling strange new thoughts into the stream of consciousness. And these spurts turn out to be surprisingly useful.” We agree. And although while in meditation, we are trained to stay in the present, focus and dismiss errant thoughts, it seems to me that a version of meditation called meditation with intent, where we sit down and tell the universe what it is we are seeking, and then sit quietly and see what comes to us, might be worth a try. Meditating and daydreaming are both ways to make our desires known to us and to the universe--just don’t go daydreaming while driving a car or operating machinery! Excuse us now, while we daydream our way to a tropical island where we’ll be soaking up the sun during our coffee break! Namaste.

When it comes to creativity, daydreaming can be very helpful: we found a story that revealed Albert Einstein came up with the Theory of Relativity while he was daydreaming; and on June 5, 2012, The New Yorker published a story about daydreaming in which they said:

My Souls whisper A glimpse of my Journey to John of God
by Heike Stenzel www.AngelBeyond.com 18
THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
I vividly remember the very first Wednesday morning in the Casa Dom Inacio. I have collected my Primer Vez “First time” ticket from the CASA bookshop and a translator quickly shortens my three requests into just a view words into Portuguese and I am back in the Main Hall to hear the announcement for the “FIRST TIME LINE”. I am excited and nervous at the same time. It is an amazing experience to walk through the door into the mediums room the very first time. To the right side, people are sitting on benches, immersed deeply in meditation to hold the space and start the cleansing process before the people go in front of Medium Joáo and the in-cooperated Entity at that time! Another corridor forms up, accompanied with benches to the right and left side. The energy is amazing and I feel my heart beat increasing, might it be, because I am nervous or I am picking up on the high frequency in this part of the Entities hall - when out of sudden I hear telepathically “I see you” I am taken by surprise. It is like the Entities already reading my holographic field; even though, a few more people are in front of me, like Lucy and Grace, two lovely ladies from Canada I met two days ago. Everything is surprisingly organized and translators help non speaking foreigners to make their quest.
By having been born with slightly a heart valve insufficiency in my physical body, one of my first requests asking is the help on this. It is just a glimpse, a momentum and John of God´s hand reaches out. I put my hand into his and a stream of love envelopes me. From far away, I hear the translator announcing “Chrystal Bed before 2pm and Passiflower!” Within seconds, I am outside in the dazzling sunshine, feeling very spacey. It takes me a few moments to truly come back into the here and now to book my Chrystal Bed Session before 2pm.
Reflecting back; the very following is one of my profound spiritual stories I love to share with you here for this time. “I just returned from my Chrystal Bed Session, feeling in total bliss and by that unsure what I have been told to do as a next step. When people begin to flock in for the afternoon Current, I follow them into the mediums room. Nevertheless, it actually would have been the 2 o clock line for me and those people have been called in for a spiritual intervention! “Oh boy, if that would matter!” By sitting “in the current” to meditate - the entities begin their work on me. Very soon after I have closed my eyes, I become aware of this beautiful white light surrounding me. It flows down into my crown chakra and encircling me completely.

In that moment, I see the presence of light beings and a huge X-Ray technology moving down from above, hovering slowly to just stop in front of my body. They are scanning my Heart! But not only that, the very next I see and feel they are leading a hearth catheter into my etheric body and begin working; pulling and twisting chords that are misplaced some of them emotional memories. It goes on and on, when I become aware of a presence that is dressed in a black garment that seems to observe and delegate the whole process. “Who is that..?” I wonder. Later I find out that it is Dom Inacio de Loyola. May his presence of light was around while Dr. Augusto de Almeida worked through John of God on that day? I also become aware of one of my angels. She is a very beautiful female presence, vibrant in light and radiating love into my heart. I am so happy and filled with bliss to see my angel being with me and sending me all the love and light. There is this beautiful pink light, the pulse of the heart of God, and telepathically repeatedly hearing. “We love you, we love you, and we love you!”

And they have put me under anesthesia that faded off after 12 hours of the 24 hours resting time! This is when my body starts kicking in with some pain in my right shoulder and chest, such as, if I would have had a physical operation or overdone it with doing too much exercise. By all of this and many more beautiful love filled moments I am having here, I am deeply grateful to be here in this special place that exists here on Earth. I respectfully give thanks to John of God in love and light! He, who selflessly helps so many thousands of people, who come here for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing; and he who has devoted more than 60 years of his life, incorporating the higher evolved beings; the Entities working through him in his humble way. Showing the world that compassion and unconditional love can exist in anyone of us and underlining “I do not heal anyone. The one who heals is God.”

The Transcendent Mind by Sunita Pattani
23 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
She was tired after having worked a long day, but she had still decided to come in for her therapy session. She sat comfortably in the warm, neutrally decorated therapy room, which was quite a contrast to the dark, crisp winter evening on display outside. With questioning eyes and a slightly raised vocal tone, she spoke, “I don’t understand. Why should I consider the bigger picture? What relevance does this have for me? How is it going to help my healing now?” I stopped for a moment, paused, trying to organise and collect my thoughts. She had asked a valid question. It wasn’t that I didn’t have some understanding of the answer because I’d spent the past thirteen years searching for it myself. It was more a case that I didn’t know how to articulate it concisely enough for it to make a difference. Why should she consider the bigger picture? What relevance did it have for her? How was it going to help her healing now? I am a Psychotherapist. My aim is to help individuals attain a greater sense of inner peace and I get to glimpse (very personally), into the lives of others on a daily basis. I observe their pain and obstacles, and in many cases during the process of therapy, I also witness the beginnings of a shift in their consciousness. I have found that sometimes using the tools and techniques that I have been trained to use are enough to help a client with their issues. But, I have also observed in some cases that these approaches alone are not enough to help with emotional healing. It’s almost as if the client feels that there’s a deeper purpose to life – something they can feel but yet are not able to describe, an inner yearning or even emptiness at times, that they can’t quite comprehend. It’s not that these un-named feelings or concepts have not been addressed in the previous psychological theories, but in my opinion, it’s rather a case that they are not always fully understood or considered, and this is 24 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
because they have (what some may refer to as), a mystical element to them. Having made the choice to continually work on my own personal development, and to explore other areas of research such as parapsychology and near-death experiences, I feel that I have gained a broader perspective on emotional healing. I have personally experienced both shifts in consciousness and glimpses of the truth, and I feel that this has greatly impacted the way in which I work with clients as a Psychotherapist. Had I not have researched the mind from a multidisciplinary perspective, perhaps I may not have further delved into concepts such as Maslow’s peak experiences, or Jung’s notion of collective unconscious. I personally feel that my psychotherapy training alone did not equip me to fully connect with the depth of some of the theories, but rather it has been my personal inquisition into who I really am that has gifted me this experience. From a personal perspective, I believe that I can only help my clients to the extent of my own experience and understanding. I would also like to mention here that I am not saying that my choice of method is the only way to facilitate emotional healing. Every therapist and client is different and has his or her own methods of working and responding. What I am sharing with you instead, is my own experience of what I have learned through questioning and researching the nature of consciousness and how this relates to emotional healing. I propose that instead of just looking at an individual’s challenges and behaviour, we start to ask the all-important question of ‘Who Am I?’ When we start to go beyond observing and managing the ego mind, we begin to realise that we are in fact not just this ego mind, but additionally we are something far greater, interconnected with everything else, forming one universal truth.
The question, ‘Who am I?’ asks that we entertain the notion that we are more than just the body and ego mind. It asks that we expand our awareness about ourselves and perhaps consider the place where psychology and mysticism meet. Sunita Pattani is a psychotherapist and author based in East London, specializing in exploring the link between mind, body, spirit and emotional healing. Since childhood she has been fascinated with science, spirituality, consciousness and the deeper question of who we really are.She explores this question from a multi-disciplinary perspective, and implements the findings within her therapy practice. Prayers vs. Intentions They Carry Different Energy
By Linda J. Ferguson, Ph.D. 26 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ April 2015
Many people set intentions for what they want to create or experience. Yet they may not understand the energy they attach to their intentions.
ed, is already coming to you. You say clearly that you are ready, willing, and open to accept that which is in your Right Highest Good for the next step of your journey.
A client of mine recently asked how to set intentions. My client said she prayed to God and wondered if intentions were different from prayers. I told her there is a subtle but significant difference between intentions and prayers of petition.
As you learn to clear out old patterns and karmic connections that no longer serve you, you are better able to receive your heart’s desires. Rather than fight against what is unfolding in your life, step into life with trust and faith. You start to see that all is in Divine Right Order. With greater acceptance and ease, you graciously receive all that flows in and through your life.
The difference is in the energy. Prayers of petition, asking God to provide something, come from a mindset of lack. It usually is associated with a feeling of emptiness. Such prayers come from a belief of not having, from a longing or ‘wanting’. Sometimes it can even be a desperate plea to God, “Please, please God bring me xyz or help me with xyz.” I’ve certainly said those prayers. I can remember my ‘carpet to God moments’ when I was on my knees pleading to get through my struggle. I just wanted to feel better, to find some peace, and stop the pain. Intentions work from a different energy. Intentions declare that you are ready to receive. Intentions state your willingness and openness to allow what you desire to be brought to you. While intentions are set to manifest or create something new in your life, they are done with a positive expectation, certainty, or appreciation, rather than a pleading. Your job is to clear out the obstacles within you that kept you limited or blocked from receiving your heart’s desire. As you clear your blocks and gave more freely of yourself, you became a clearer channel for greater good to flow to you. Practice setting positive intentions for what you desire and send those intentions with the affirmation that they were already on their way. When you set an intention with a mindset of openness to receive, you affirm that what you are seeking is already being provid-
Here are some affirmations you can use to set intentions for your work, life, finances, health, peace and joy: • Thank you God for sending me exactly the Right Next Perfect Blessing. • I give thanks in advance for all the won derful blessings that are flowing to me. • I welcome and allow all that is in my Right Highest Good to come to me in the most glorious and easeful way. • I am open to receive all the abundance of health, wealth, joy, and peace that will support me in the next step of my journey. • I declare now my willingness to allow more blessings to flow to me in ways that I can easily receive • I set my intention to release anything that blocks me from receiving all that is Divine Right Order for myself and every one in my life. • I know blessings are flowing to me for the expressed intention of my healing and wholeness. • With fabulous excitement, I await the wonderful prosperity that is coming to me swiftly and clearly. Yin and Yang How Deep Does the Rabbit Hole Go by Michael WhiteRyan Firstly ask yourself…do you want to know? As our primal awareness grows here in the Western world, the imposing question sitting on the edges of mind, slowly makes its way out from the shadows into the light of focus. Traditions have given us great everlasting foundations to springboard from, when it comes to creating a platform for new learnings and understandings. Especially when it is related to Eastern philosophies and metaphysics. Yin and Yang assumingly is all about the relationship of dualities as we know it in the natural world and US. This give clarity to the ebb and flow between the existence of negative and positive. Yin referrers to everything feminine, soft, dark, passive and that’s which is receptive. While Yang relates to the masculine aspects, that which is creative, light, strong and hopefully hard.
Heaven, Earth and Human. A Confucius saying describes this essence perfectly “that which is past becomes less and less, that which lies ahead grows more and more, this contraction and expansion influences each other and advantageous progress is made”. Hence the many twists and turns when we experience the cycles of life, nature, people, self and why learning is so powerful. When we knowingly incorporate the alignment of Yin and Yang in a business we can apply new techniques, create strategies and the opportunity can develop a different mindset, if so, does that change who we are? Yang movement allows/ brings that advantageous process, that next unexpected opportunity into forward motion face to face.
Recently invited to a Zen art exhibition called Yin and Yang. Hangings on the walls were the expected photos depicting the elemental contrasts between the light of light and its shadows of various scenes. Question…could it be that our definitions of Yin and Yang are for communication purposes only? If yang is about movement then anything hanging on a wall is YIN by its very nature no matter what color. On the other hand if that scene creates an ah ha moment in an individual, then by its very nature it is Yang. When we use definitions to grasp some understanding, we trap ourselves in the so called “ mindset box” and bypass the very living essences we live among every moment of our existence. Yang represents in this reality, the creative evolution of continued flow of 29 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
Riding on a bus late one night way south of Mexico City, up on the side of the mountain I spy light emanating out from a cave. It was as if the visual experience triggered an understanding deep in my being. A friend once told me the regular explanation, the white circle inside the black Yin was the pathway to the Yang light and vise vera, the cycle of duality. On the flip side, when we are over indulgent/engrossed in the white Yang with excess focus, we are living inside a well-lit cave of light which is surrounded by the black Yin!!! Balance, we must find balance in this upside down world the books advise us. When we see the symbol of Yin and Yang, you will notice there are many example variations. Are they all wrong bar one, are they examples of different cultures, or do they all symbolize different messages for the awaken soul to decipher??? In the complete center sometimes referred as the (Tai Chi) lies the zero point, where stillness (YIN) rises into absolute motion (YANG), the two as one dancing the dance of essence. The same could be said for that travelling out into Noble Silence, as we meditate for we are the center of the Universe and we are not. This well-known symbol has been given many names, one which was used in ancient times “the Grand Terminus” and looked not as we see it today. Subconscious Mind By Greg Frost
art by Vacher 32 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ Mau 2015
First things first, is that we need to know just what kind of mind is the subconscious mind, and at the end of the day, it is a mind that is hidden behind the logical mind, or the aware mind that is within us, and this is something that we need to pay attention to. One thing about us is that the subconscious mind seems to be just a term to us, and there is really no way that we are going to truly understand about it if we do not read on it. At the adult stage of life, the subconscious mind is pretty inactive in the sense that it does not take the lead in learning anymore; it just uses and recycles the instructions that are already within the mind and uses them from there. By now, when you are an adult, you are more than able to make sense of the world around you and from there, you can actually in every sense, use logic and your own critical thought processes to actually make sense of the world around you and you do not need to be protected. Why is the subconscious mind a form of protection, well we are here to explain that to you. When we are young, the one thing that we cannot do is make sense of the world ourselves, and to protect us from falling down a cliff or going near fire, is that it uses the whole concept of association and emotion to actually effect a sense of learning. Now, if we experience something bad when we are near water, what happens is that the subconscious mind actually associates these emotions with the water, and this is how the phobia of the ocean comes about when we become adults. Now, you know why some people actually have a fear of water and some of them don’t, because these emotions stay within the subconscious matrix of the mind, and from there, it is actually able to retain and remind the body to actually use these emotions as a defence mechanisms so that the same thing will not happen again. This is why the subconscious mind is said to be one of the most powerful elements within the body, because it has the ability to control every aspect of our lives.
Ever wondered why some people are afraid of public speaking and some of them are not, and this is because of the subconscious mind and the kind of stimulation that the body and the mind has been receiving since they were young and this is the important thing that you have to note. If you need to know more about the power of the subconscious mind, all you need to do is to actually log on to the internet and find out as much as you can about the topic and from there, you can make the same assumptions on your own. This way, you will know how current technology uses such knowledge to improve the human mind in ways you could not imagine.

Blue Dart Frog 34 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
Poison dart frogs, members of the Dendrobatidae family, wear some of the most brilliant and beautiful colors on Earth. Depending on individual habitats, which extend from the tropical forests of Costa Rica to Brazil, their coloring can be yellow, gold, copper, red, green, blue, or black. Their elaborate designs and hues are deliberately ostentatious to ward off potential predators, a tactic called aposematic coloration. Some species display unusual parenting habits, including carrying both eggs and tadpoles on their backs. Although this “backpacking” is not unique among amphibians, male poison arrow frogs are exceptional in their care, attending to the clutch, sometimes exclusively, and performing vital transportation duties.
lated from insects in their native habitat never develop venom. The medical research community has been exploring possible medicinal uses for some poison dart frog venom. They have already developed a synthetic version of one compound that shows promise as a painkiller. The habitat is remote and difficult to reach, so accurate population monitoring is a challenge. Regardless of numbers, this species is highly vulnerable to both human activities and natural factors, such as drought, due to its extremely small range and isolated populations.
Dendrobatids include some of the most toxic animals on Earth. The two-inch-long (fivecentimeter-long) golden poison dart frog has enough venom to kill 10 grown men. Indigenous Emberá people of Colombia have used its powerful venom for centuries to tip their blowgun darts when hunting, hence the genus’ common name. Scientists are unsure of the source of poison dart frogs’ toxicity, but it is possible they assimilate plant poisons which are carried by their prey, including ants, termites and beetles. CLEANSING YOUR SPIRIT
NATIVE AMERICAN STYLE
by Cherokee Billie In today’s modern world there never seems to be enough time. We rush from the time we get up until the time we go to bed. We battle traffic, work, deadlines, e-mail, family matters, and love life. Everything we have to get done in 24 hours! There doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. People used to work a 40 hour week, now the work hours go into your private life and many people have to spend time on the computer or phone continuing work at home. People often come to me for psychic/spiritual advice, and they are totally burnt out. They cannot understand why they cannot stop crying, yelling at people, being angry, and feel totally confused. The fact that they know something is wrong is the first step to turning their lives around. 40 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
In our high tech modern world, we need an antidote. It is time to turn back to the ancient teachings of Native Americans, which offers common sense, an uncomplicated approach to life, and a way to appreciate our existence. Frequently people ask me about cleansing their spirit, and I give many different ways to do it. Here are two of my favorite methods. Releasing The Past One of the most effective and simplest ways to cleanse your spirit is by releasing the emotional baggage that you are carrying on you. You can do this by writing down the situation or the name of a person on a piece of paper; also you must have a heat-proof container and matches. Place the paper in the container and light it on fire.
As you watch the smoke go up, picture what you have written about going up into Spirit and releasing it from your life. Native Americans have always used smoke in sacred ceremonies because of the belief that smoke is going up to the Great Spirit. renee’s Probable First-Century Past Life Many past-life therapists will tell you that having a client iden- tify a specific date from a previous incarnation is not important, and to some extent that is true. Certainly, pinpointing the date and location of a past life is often the most difficult aspect of the regression session. The therapist can encourage the client to identify architecture, clothing, landscape, and other key elements in the description process of the regres- sion that can point to a particular date and location. Clients can sometimes “sense” a time period or a place and offer a date that is a reasonable proximity. Even those who are ada- mant about a particular date are dismayed when they learn the previous life overlaps the current one, or their account of events in that time period conflicts with historical records, i.e., a woman claiming to be married to Thomas Jefferson in 1876, fifty years after he died. One explanation for this is that if a subject goes deep enough in the altered state, they can see what Michael Newton, Ph.D., describes in his book, Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives, as “alternate realities of timelessness” in which they see the past, present, and future as “one homogeneous unit.” Newton writes: “All aspects of time are presented to them as reoccurring realities ebbing and flowing together. Because parallel realities are superimposed upon one another, they too can be seen as possibilities for physical lives, especially by the more experienced souls.” Despite the difficulty in ascertaining dates and locations of their past-life experience, eventually forty-nine out of fifty people

I regressed were able to pinpoint a time period. Renee was the exception. Prior to the session, this sixty-four-year- old teacher said she felt strong ties to an Atlantean lifetime that she thought was impacting her today, but nonetheless she went into the session with an open mind and was willing to let spirit take her to whatever lifetime she needed to see. It turned out not to be the Atlantean lifetime at all. Renee was a good candidate for the project in that she had been regressed before, having done future life work with Chet Snow and past-life work with Lynn Sparrow Christy. When our session began, she had no trouble identifying her- self as a Caucasian male with bare feet, wearing a loincloth that wrapped around his waist and draped just above the knee. He was an older man, thin but strong, with workworn hands and long, coarse gray hair. At first she was unable to get either an initial or a first or last name, but as is often the case, sometime after the regression, she had a dream in which the name “Mordecai” came to her. Mordecai was imprisoned in what Renee later identified as a stone tower. It was near the ocean where the landscape was sandy and rocky, but she was unable to identify the continent he was on, much less the country. Renee saw Mordecai sitting alone on a rock bench, drink- ing a non-descript soup out of a stone bowl. When asked what he was doing there, Renee—as Mordecai—replied, “I am resigned to my fate. I have to stay here. I can’t leave. It’s not so bad.” I asked who said he could not leave, to which the response was, “Whoever closed me in here.” Mordecai described being confined to a small room furnished only with a bench, a bowl to eat from, and a win- dow that gave him a view out to the rocks. He did not know how he got there or how long he had been there. He never 44 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
saw anyone, although clearly there were other people there who made sure he was fed. “I am a prisoner there,” he said. “I felt anger and now I don’t. Anger is the reason I’m there. I had anger in my words. Anger ruled my life and now I am at peace.”Despite the primitive conditions, Mordecai lived to a very old age and died in his sleep from natural causes, apparently with no last thoughts on his life. Months after the regression she characterized him as “the strong, silent type” who was “not a big talker, never had many friends.” In terms of how that life was affecting Renee’s life now, she replied, “So happy with so little— it’s okay with so little. Anger only hurts you. It was an issue when younger, but not now.” After the regression, Renee’s soul-writing session was brief with a singular message: Solace, peace and trust in the Lord only. Blue, blue, blue, blue, blue Blue, blue, blue. While she was writing those three lines, I meditated and asked for information on her behalf to help fill in the blanks of what she received during the regression. This is what I received through soul writing: The lifetime that Renee reviewed was one of grace for karmicly that soul had to pay for hurt caused in other lifetimes which manifested in that life as unbri- dled anger that once again caused bodily injury to another. Because of the violence of the incident, he was sent to be in isolation on an island prison. There through thoughtful consideration came to understand that anger was the cause of all his ills and misfor- tunes. Rather than continue to be angry and violent, he learned to be loving and compassionate, accepting his fate with grace and humility. While it did not alter his sentence, it nonetheless utilized the Law of Grace, transmuting what could have been an endless circle of karmic retribution to a gain in understanding and compassion—
therefore not needing to repeat the les- son again. That is why when the anger arose again in this life—a residual of the last—almost as a test—she was able to remember how to overcome those urges— remembering the lesson of that life—and negating its impact on this life. A very excellent example of grace in action. After Renee and I shared what we each received in the writing session, I made a notation that it would be interesting to figure out the significance of the word “blue” thatcame up repeatedlyinherwriting. Some months later, Renee came to the conclusion that “blue” referred to the sky because that was all Mordecai had to look at during his imprisonment. That simple pleasure made him happy, thus leaving a strong impression— “So happy with so little”—that carried over to this life. Renee described the regression as both painful and sad. Mordecai accepted his fate but in that life never understood what happened to cause him to suffer so much. She saw a connection between Mordecai’s life and her present life, but in an incidental way. After the session, she told me about a woman who deliberately left her horses on Renee’s property for seven months without asking permis- sion. Describing the woman as “not very nice and uses peo- ple,” Renee said the regression enabled her to quiet her anger about this woman and just let it go. “I believe this regression was a wake-up call to not involve myself any more than I have with some people,” she said. “I was having an ongoing dispute with her which only kept me involved with her negativity. I’m out some money but happily I no longer have ties to her.” Renee said the soul-writing portion added to the regres- sion, saying she resonated to what I wrote. She added that the information I shared clarified that in this life she was working out karma acquired in Mordecai’s lifetime.
“I’ve had a lot of that in this life. The redemption part I loved because that would explain why so many negative things have happened to me.” As stated earlier, Renee’s previous life and her current life are excellent examples of the Law of Grace in action. Renee identified the reason for Mordecai’s imprisonment as being his problem with anger management. We may not know exactly what he did that caused him to be banished to his isolated prison for life, but he knew it had to do with his uncontrollable anger. Yet what he did that led to his imprisonment is far less interesting than his reaction to his incarceration. You would not expect a person with an anger issue to calmly surrender to a life sentence of banishment and isolation. Yet not only does he peacefully accept his fate, but he acknowledges his accountability. He spends the rest of his life trying to make the best of a bad situation. The rage issue disappears. Hostility is replaced by humility. Mordecai’s response to his circumstances in that life illus- trates how he allowed grace to enter his life. He recognized his shortcomings, but did not condemn himself. He held him- self accountable, but he also had a change in consciousness and that softened the harshness of his sentence. By embrac- ing grace, he was able to transform his anger urges to acceptance. In doing so, he made sure that in a future incarnation he would not have to experience karmic retribution in such a harsh way. Karma brings balance and harmony to our lives. Its intent is to teach, not punish. Cayce (3226-1) addressed this when he said, “For those sojourns are as lessons, as grades . . . .” How difficult we make that lesson is up to us. In Mordecai’s case, a change of heart enabled grace to soften the karmic ramifications of his ill deed. The interesting aspect of this for Renee’s current life is that 2,000 years later she was given a retest, so to speak. 45 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
She was presented with a situation (i.e., a woman letting her horses graze on Renee’s property for months without per- mission) that would have enraged even the most patient soul. Knowing that anger”brought with it grave circumstances in a previous incarnation, rather than becoming enraged at that woman, Renee was able to calmly work through the problem and let it go. Several months after our session, I contacted Renee to see if anything had surfaced, as I was still curious about when and where Mordecai lived. Very often clients experience bleed-through of past-life memories weeks after a session. Additional information about that life comes to them in any number of ways— from dreams to music, movies, comments from friends or family, or through meditation. In Renee’s case, that’s exactly what happened. She reported receiving clarification of when and where Mordecai lived. “It seems to me [it was] around the time of the Apostles, because I keep thinking about John being on Patmos Island and writing letters that became part of the New Testament. I definitely am not saying I was John but it has that feel to it. I was not cold and didn’t wear much clothing. I do think it was by the ocean but my view was of the back, maybe on purpose by my captors. So possibly the Mediterranean. That’s the feel I have on it and the fact that it definitely was not that recent, even before Christ is possible. I looked up Mordecai and it is an ancient name from the Bronze Era.” In fact, Patmos is a Greek Island in the Aegean Sea off the west coast of Turkey. John was exiled there around 95-100 A.D., so the time period would be accurate. The island has a wide array of beaches and a fairly tropical climate, so Mordecai’s description of “living near the ocean where the landscape was sandy” and that he wore few clothes, just a “loincloth” would match a description of life on Patmos.

Transforming your Physical Body Into a Sacred Light Body by Mashubi Rochell
49 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
Your physical body is a sacred vehicle of light, which was created by God and joined with physical matter in order to accomplish a holy purpose that your soul chose before incarnating. It may seem as though your daily life is mundane and has little in the way of divine soul purpose, but one day this veil over your perception will lift, and you will see and feel deeply the full splendor of your soul’s radiance and beauty as a child of God. When this realization comes of your divine nature, you may also begin to feel shame and remorse as you look back upon previous times where you acted out of harmony with God’s love. This is the time to open your heart even more, to feel your true emotions, and pray for healing and forgiveness. As you see and feel the truth of who you are, light will open within you and heal the pain, and release you from the cycle of negativity that can be created when we create actions that are out of harmony with God’s love. Today we live in a time where a great transformation is happening upon the Earth. Up until now this transformation has been largely invisible, except to those who could perceive other dimensions of reality. Now, these changes are beginning to manifest more clearly in the physical realm, and each embodied soul on the Earth is experiencing a process of transformation as well. The higher dimensions of God’s light are entering the atmosphere of the Earth and accelerating the subatomic frequency of all physical matter. This can be seen as a quickening, which manifests in many different ways, in the development of technologies that enhance global communication and in a greater col-

lective understanding of our relationship with the Earth and our responsibility to care for her, who supports all life. This quickening also is having a major purifying effect on our physical bodies, creating changes that open us more to God’s love and to the spiritual realms, and that also cleanse our beings of emotional and physical toxicity that we have been carrying. There are some who are already experiencing the quickening effect of greater light, which is causing an upsurge of past emotions, thoughts and physical symptoms. In this situation it is important to create supports for yourself so that you can be helped to understand what is happening, and to cleanse and heal your body, mind and spirit. There are more and more supports available now as God’s light is awakening many souls who have incarnated at this time in order to help humanity through this time of transition. Dearest ones, at this momentous time in the history of the Earth, all of our physical bodies are undergoing a process to transformation so that we can vibrate in greater harmony with God’s love. Our bodies are becoming light bodies, which can greatly accelerate our own healing processes, and our ability to help others to heal. There are a growing number of supports available to help smooth the way in this process, and your own faith in God and desire to live a life of love and purity will attract to you exactly the right people and resources to assist you in this process. As each of us becomes more light filled and capable of radiating God’s light and love to others, we become a positive force for change that will help our entire planet to heal.

How often do we seek approval from others? Sadly many of us value the approval of someone whom hardly ever gives it. We some how value their approval over someone whom freely demonstrates how wonderful we are; what good we have done, or basically that we are loved unconditionally.
Reality of what Really IS. Reason being, there is only God/Love, which is the Ultimate Truth. Sadly those people will oftentimes be taken for granted or mistook as being too easy to please, so to speak. They will not be valued for the unconditional Love and beauty they see in everything.....and in US.
As the old saying goes, “I would never want to belong to a club that would have me as a member..”
But the truth is this: those whom see beauty everywhere are the ones that must be honored and valued, for they see the REAL person, as they see LOVE, which is GOD.
In other words, if you accept me, then something is wrong with you, because I am not good enough, and therefore, neither are you…” Sadly, when one is treated in a way that feels we are not valued, if our self-esteem is low, we will often try even harder to get that negative person’s approval. We do this because we somehow think that if their approval is given sparingly, then somehow it is more valuable and it will mean more to us. The sad truth is that this is really the opposite of what is going on! One that berates and hardly gives approval is one that not often sees real beauty. And this does not mean in terms of seeing something that pleases the ‘eye.’ It refers to how they look at their world. One either sees the world as ugly or as beautiful; as good or as bad; as frightening or as safe. Therefore, the person who has a negative point of view in general, will not see the beauty in us or our behavior, and will instead, find fault, even though beauty is always present. It is their perspective that forms their opinion, and unconsciously they are choosing to block Love, which is always there. Hence, they will see many things as negative, (in fact, one of the acronyms for SATAN is Seeing All Things As Negative…as stated by author Neale Donald Walsch, in Conversations With God, Book 3). Others whom see beauty in everything and everywhere are actually seeing the Ultimate

As for those who are hard to please? They are asleep Spiritually and therefore, do not see beauty in everything, or hardly at all. They will in time, as all are ‘going Home;’ but for now, let us bless those still asleep on their Spiritual path, and let us value and appreciate those Beings of Light, who see in us, what they also truly are, which is Love.

trusting soul the art of Communing with our true nature

By doing one learns, through dreaming one creates, with study one refines, in loving one fulfills— such are the wisdoms for tending to the secret garden of our soul. 56 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
The Challenge of Trusting Soul: How Can We Make Sense of Our Suffering ? As she moves toward the kitchen, she winces, teeth clenched against the pain. Walking has become a two-edged sword, each step taken as nerve endings scream a bitter reminder that she can still feel her feet. How long does she have until the burning is replaced by loss of feeling, loss of control, loss of mobility? The ruthless progression of her disease has robbed her of her dreams. “Why me!” she cries again and again. Who can possibly be served by such suffering? Countless times each and every day, someone, some- where, anguishes. The oldest question in the world forms on pain-contorted lips. “If there is a God, a Supreme Being of Divine Creation, why is there such suffering? Why is this hap- pening to me? Why here? Why now?” Illness and pain and death are certainly part of our human experience and impossible to avoid during our earth-walk. Yet what we must remember is the divine harmony behind even the most intractable of illusory appearances. Illness and pain can be great medicine, as strange as that may sound. Our suf- fering can awaken us to life’s greater purpose when we remem- ber that, while pain is inevitable, suffering is always optional. To clear the resistance is to heal. To clear the resistance is to become whole (which is the same as to heal). The pain may remain—or it may not—yet as we reclaim our inherent wholeness, suffering is transmuted and we grow strong. As I have come to realize through my life’s journey, the purpose of our human embodiment is, actually, to grow a soul. Like the making of a body during nine months of gestation, soulmaking is also a process. For, although we are born with it, our soul continues to develop with every life experience. Our sufferings are simply the secretions that add to its luster— like a pearl inside an oyster. Making soul is the process of a life- time, or several lifetimes. Mystics, saints, and shamans of ages past and of today, from places far and near, re-
fer to this eternal sojourn in many ways, yet whatever terms are used implies a conscious engagement with our true potential as divine part- ners in creation. This is what it means to “grow a soul.” This is what it means to commune with our essential nature. I realize now that the best way to make sense of my per- sonal journey from darkness to light, from the constricting childhood illness and family dysfunction which framed my suffering to the expansive awareness of all the lessons con- tained within it is to simply honor the Great Originating Mystery. The humility that came as I fell upon my knees in surrender when my suffering became unbearable opened me to directly experience the Divine. Like the traveler who stands on the edge of a great canyon or feels himself small while gazing at the sky, the awe inspired by the suffering that overwhelmed me provided the same release. This is why it is important to remember that traditional societies, where sha- manic healing is the norm, do not define evil, harm, or ill fortune as negative. Instead, misfortune is understood as a necessary challenge for the growth and evolution of the soul. The humility that comes as we surrender to the circumstances of whatever challenges face us becomes our greatest ally for transformation. Trust is that which provides us the means to endure the challenges, anxieties, the fears, doubts, and insecurities that are necessary for the soul’s growth. Trusting soul means shift- ing consciousness from a place of feeling victimized by life circumstances to a place of recognizing how illness or vio- lence or disaster are the necessary compost that creates fertile ground for Becoming. This evolution toward enlightenment requires a radical transformation of our relationship to the Creator/Creatrix as we say yes to the sacred opportunity that is our birthright. And that is the purpose of our earth-walk: to heal, to re-pattern, and to reclaim our power as we bring the world into being with our dance. 57 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
The Soul Re-members I was born in Lima, Peru, on August 21, 1951. My coming back into wholeness as a soul on this good earth began at first breath. This divine ally of both earth and heavens filled me with so much more than oxygen in that first awakening. Spirit itself filled my lungs as life took hold. My Peruvian physician father looked lovingly upon me as I breathed. My Italian-American mother relaxed. Yet what began so easily became a struggle for survival as I grew. As asthma set in, my breath was simply not avail- able. I felt distant from Spirit, distant from life itself at those times. I was a young soul encased within a physical body. As a seed that has not yet sprouted, my soul lay dormant deep underground. Rather than expansion and growth, my soul contracted in order to survive. Rather than movement, it wel- comed stillness. Rather than the radiant sunlight of day, it came to anticipate the darkness of an artificial harbor. “Come out from under that table,” I remember my fourth-grade teacher Mrs. Montiel telling me. In my first nine years, I had learned many ways to appear sane as my family descended ever further into dysfunction. My mother suffered from severe depression, made worse by the impulsive decision to follow my father back to his homeland after his graduate studies in the United States. Seduced by love, she left all she knew to come to a land whose language and culture she did not understand. Now her deepening depressions and repeated hospitalizations—complete with electroshock treatments to “cure” her—had taken her ever farther away from me. Each time she returned from the hospital, the arguments and tears became more pronounced. Divorce was imminent, yet my mother refused. Disagreements turned into literal battles. Plates were thrown and bones broken. I screamed in despera- tion the day I came upon her sitting on the bed, my father gripped between her knees as she attempted to strangle him with a belt. I watched in terri58

fied wonder the day she chased him down the hall with a kitchen knife and knocked him to the bottom of the stairs, where he lay unconscious as she slammed an iron into his head. In the corridors of my child- hood, violence and danger had become the norm. The more my mother felt betrayed, the more I felt abandoned. In the midst of all the chaos, my breathing became more and more constricted. Sometimes I held my breath for fear I would be heard and simply add to the chaos and the stress. My asthma attacks became more frequent. I began to with- draw. I missed day after day of school as I struggled just to breathe. And even on the days I came to school, my fifth year of elementary education was lost to worry and uncer- tainty. Defiant. Silent. Some administrators even concluded I was cognitively impaired. Not fit for the classroom at all. “We cannot give him the help he needs here,” they said. Yet in the 1960s, the type of help available was the same my mother had received during her stays at the psychiatric hos- pitals: Medication. Electro-convulsive therapy. Long, sterile white hallways that ended in nothing. My parents refused the advice, begging and bribing the school to keep me a while longer. Meanwhile, I found refuge in small spaces, under tables, in corners. I crawled around in the classroom as per- plexed children pointed fingers, laughing and mocking me. I was like a scared animal. Hiding. That day under the table, my father walked into the class- room. He got on his knees and extended his hand. I remember the calloused fingers when I put my hand in his. He brought me into his arms and held me tenderly as he spoke with Mrs. Montiel. I could feel his love for me then. When we arrived home, the street was littered with his clothes, his books and papers, and all the heirlooms that nor- mally sat on his desk in the upstairs study. All his belongings had been hurled from the secondfloor windows above. My mother had had a crisis, spiraling out of her ability to tolerate the
lies and contradictions that she had been promised would not be part of this, her third, marriage. She had snapped. My father turned the door handle, but it did not budge. The locks had been changed. There was no access into the house. I panicked. For, in spite of the chaos, it was the only place where I felt safe. It was a safety that I found in illness. Even when I was bedridden, my bed was something I knew and found some comfort in. This illness was a place that had my imprint. The most severe asthma attack that I can recall occurred at that moment. My father rushed me to a nearby clinic. Once there, I knew the routine, I knew the drill. Lie down, little Oscar, roll up your sleeve. Allow us to put this small prick into your vein, and let us run the elixir that will open up your lungs. Dexamethasone. O.5 mg, slow drip in saline solution. My breath returned. My brother Ronald, who had just been discharged from the army because of a crisis of nerves in the Korean War, came and brought me home. I understood that my father was not welcome. I went to my room. I cried, sob- bing, in my loneliness and loss. Now I understand the true miracle of love that was at the root of my illness. The asthma that was part of my life for so long had been the very path to my redemption. It pointed the way for my return to wholeness. It paved the road from the dark night of my aching soul to the superior realms of my sha- manic ancestors. Even then, I felt a stirring as we rode up the winding roads away from sealevel Lima into the central Andes. As we traveled, we followed the river Rimac, called such by Quechua-speaking peoples of the highlands because it is the river of the “one-who-speaks.” My destiny was calling out to me and I could feel the murmuring voices of my ancestors tumble down the mountainsides into its flow.
It was later that same year. I was ten years old, and the finest physicians in Lima had concurred that my very sur- vival depended on this move. As we left the coast with its smog, humidity, and pollution, the sky brightened. Irrigated fields flanked the winding road from Lima toward the Central Highlands as we drove. Our destination was the town of Chosica, halfway between the coast and the highest peaks of the Andes, where mountain lords are named and honored with ritual offerings even now. There, high above the village, giant stones and enigmatic citadels are venerated today, just as they were during ancestral times. The entire region is known as a place of visitation, of sightings, and actual contact with star-beings. My father chose Chosica hoping that the drier, cleaner air might help my hypoxia. It was there where I found breath through an encounter with the beyond. It was a December night in 1961. The air was cold and the sky was full of stars. My mother had put me to bed and then returned to the kitchen to clean up after dinner. From deepest slumber, I awoke with a start. My eyes were wide and round in surprise and growing desperation. My mouth was just a slit, and I felt my chest disappearing. My body was completely numb: There was no breath at all. Panic cannot even describe the sensation. I tried desperately to call for help, yet I could not move or speak. The world began closing in on me as darkness pressed down against my chest. The earth opened to swallow me, and I felt myself pulled down through the mattress of my bed, deeper and deeper into this abyss. My body felt cold. The pounding in my ears that was my heart became faint, then fainter still; then all was silent. I relaxed and fell into total drowning. I was dead. From far away, I began hearing someone call my name. t wasn’t my birth name at all, but a nickname my father had given me years before because of my curiosity and my countenance. Eager Beaver, he had called me, or Beaver for short. 59 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
It felt good to have an animal name. I identified with it. Faintly, I began hearing it in my right ear, then in my left, “Beaver, Beaver, come back. We need you. Beaver, come back, Beeeeaver . . . .” Suddenly, with a gasp of air, I was pulled from the abyss that had swallowed me. I found myself sitting upright in my bed in total darkness. With open eyes, I gazed around the room. Slowly, as I regained consciousness more fully, I began to feel the pres- ence of extraordinary compassion. I felt indescribable love, healing, and grace. As I gazed deeper into the darkness, there appeared a quivering field of luminosity that gradually settled into three human-like forms. Standing seven feet tall, their heads were almost touching the low ceiling of my room. As they became increasingly more detailed and separate, their appearance became discernible. It was evident that they were three beings. All three had long white beards and luminous blue eyes. They were ancient, yet ageless; wizened, yet com- pletely unencumbered. They wore long, white robes, and their long hair grew into wispy trails of luminous, spiraling light. They were three angelic beings, three Shining Ones. I now know them to be three expressions of the Divine that have been described in tales and legends since the dawn of time: luminous beings, they were strange visitors from other worlds, from unseen dimensions. They resonated and pulsed, vibrated, and shone forth. They were perfect, harmonious, whole. They were beyond all dichotomy and division. They were absolute Love. These three beings communicated in unison a thought that mirrored exactly what I felt. A resounding gift of awak- ening to my true place of origin reverberated deep within me. The thought-feeling coursed from my head throughout the entire length of my body as they stood before me. It felt pleasant, like the vibrational lingering of sacred words once spoken. In that moment, my entire experience of being in a physical body shifted. I recog60 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ May 2015
nized my own essence in the same light that they embodied. That awareness alone would have been enough for me to embrace the experience of death that had come upon me. In that instant, I could have just let go, returning with a peaceful heart to the hands of our Maker. Yet somehow I knew it was not my time. No sooner did I know it than the radiant shining one to my left bent his tall frame toward me as if he were a radiant tree, a supple willow of dangling light. As he bent forward, he left traces and wisps of luminosity. As he moved, curls of spiral radiance trailed behind. He placed his transparent lips to my chest. He began to breathe the asthma out from my lungs into himself. For what seemed an eternity, he sucked in through his lips, extracting from my frail body all residue of the illness that had accompanied the evolution of my soul in this lifetime. Afterward, he raised his head and offered that density in breath up to the heavens. As he released the breath, a spiral, whirling wind opened to a door of light above him. I saw the crack between the worlds in that moment. All my suffering, my guilt and misconceptions were taken skyward as he blew. When he finished, the portal vanished as quickly as it had appeared. Next, the Shining One to my right placed his right hand, with a luminous open-fingered palm, upon my sternum. He then placed his left palm on top of the right one. As he closed his deep blue eyes, I felt a concentrated willing: a bestowal of his essence into my heart. My entire being was lit from within as I lay motionless on the bed. Meanwhile, the being who stood between the other two opened his eyes wide, looking straight ahead. His Buddha- like hands danced with flowing light. He touched his lumi- nous fingertips together in various gestures. Now I understand that what I saw was a kind of hand language. It was an Enochian language
of light gifted by those who seeded our planet so many eons ago. Gestures that are universal codes for transmitting the Great Mysteries held and kept in the libraries of the etheric Shangri-las and lost mon- asteries of the world. I have seen these gestures many times since that night, in statues, sculptures, paintings, murals, and greatly venerated objects. These gestures appear ubiquitous in all our original peoples’ cultures and in their art. Once the hand gestures were complete, this Shining One rested his arms by his side and gazed toward me with his infi- nitely compassionate eyes. It was then that the communica- tion between us began. In that moment, my eyelids began feeling very heavy. I felt drowsy, as though I could sleep. But instead, I entered a realm between dream and waking where images floated seamlessly along. The first image I was gifted by that luminous being was of returning to Lima. I saw the great turmoil that would ensue as my father and mother separated, yet I saw myself being free of asthma forever more. I saw myself being able to run and jump and ride a bicycle as well as swimming in the ocean and playing in the schoolyard. I saw myself with my classmates, having crushes and experiencing the fullness of that very sensi- tive age between late childhood and young adulthood. In that place of the in-between, words, sound, and lan- guage as we know it do not serve. Instead, communication occurs with imagery: panoramic vistas show time and space as one unified moment. In that place that is blessed by the perfection of the present, the ultimate is revealed. There, all is seen, yet little must be remembered for memory of all that the Ultimate reveals would only distress even the most advanced soul. The infinity of vision and possibility contained in the Great Mystery Teachings of these shining ones would simply be too much to bear. Yet over time, and only as needed for the soul’s evolution, what is shared with the dream-traveler in that space of the Eternal Present may sud-
denly be made avail- able to the memory. The telepathic transmission of the events of my life was extensive: the jobs I would hold, the relationships I would treasure, the children who would be born and those who would be lost to me in the dance of eros that accompanies the search for self. I saw the teachers I would meet, and I saw the artistry of what I was born to do as my service to the great web of life. As the movie of my life began to fade from view, the last message reverberating through the depths of my soul was this: “Remember the rituals. Remember the rituals. Remember the rituals.”
